Is broken if you update to current latest nvidia driver, the game won't start unless you delete the frame gen.dll

And if you delete it you don't have frame gen,i know it's not the developers fault , it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nvidia breaking things.

But i really want to have it back.

Fun fact, you don't have to delete it, you have to go into the config file for your video settings and disable it there. Something to the effect of: Documents > dying light 2 > out > settings: right click video.scr, select "edit in notepad", 2nd option from the bottom is "FrameAmplification(1)" set that to "FrameAmplification(0)", save the file and then give launching a try again

Didn't know that, but yeah.

Still disables the frame gen sadly.
Is it really Nvidias fault? Someone here wrote that the framegen.dll used by Techland is ancient. Maybe that is the reason that it is no longer working with the newest drivers.

No, my game ran fine until i updated to the latest version of the Nvidia drivers. ( 560.70 )

However i used to get heavy input lag... that was not there before, even before updating to latest drivers. So who knows.

nvidia JUST NOW released a updated version of dlss frame gen version 3.7.0? or something like that. its not compatible with the game thats why u get the crash. besides if u go on discorord , they talk about a file u can extract manually from the new driver and add it manually to dying light 2 game directory and maybe itll work without deleting anything. or just use DDU and roll back a couple drivers. a clean install via nvidia doesnt work u have to use DDU to fix this for some reason

Did they patch out frame gen though? I'm using older drivers and never had a problem. As of today though, I don't see frame gen as an option in the video settings.

I tried to do this but it still didn't work, so.

Must wait for a fix.

Hey, we are working closely with Nvidia to adress an issue caused by their latest update. Until it's resolved, we temporarily removed frame generation feature to avoid any crashes it caused. once the issue is resolved we will reinstate this feature too!

Will you guys also please look into the delay that was added even for drivers before this one that broke it ?

Since many months ago Frame gen almost had no input lag.

Thanks a lot.
