So.. Game just doesn't start.. what to do?

Trying to use aftertouch (right stick) on my Xbox One Controller. Pressing the stick after shooting a ball doesn't seem to work, nor does holding it while I'm shooting. The tutorial doesn't give any prompts once the aftertouch input is introduced, so I can't trigger whatever I'm supposed to be doing to complete it. I also can't seem to use my controller on the menu screens, although it does work in-game....

Did it twice - either it's a bug or i have to play several more seasons to unlock it

I was playing against UpU and they would pass the ball extremely rapidly (and often do big kicks too), making the screen jerk back and forth. I think it may have been a bug because they weren't very smart about it, and would often send the ball flying back towards their side (including once scoring on themselves from the opposite side of the field, giving me a 3 goal). The final stats showed they did 86 passes and 29 big kicks, which I think was triple what I had. Is this normal or did they glitch out?...
