Victoria 3 "Anno 1836"
Vicky 3 is more Anno/Factorio Production sim than economy sim. Which is fine and entertaining to secure resources and build supply chains, but its not really Victoria now is it.

Not true at all.

Still is.

Economy was always the name of the game.

actually the name of the game was always victoria, sometimes the stuff after it changed but yknow

My thoughts exactly. With some fixes, it can be nice Anno/Factorio like game. More beginner friendly than Factorio.

But it's not a sequel to Victoria 1 and 2. It's no longer GSG.

I always thought it was funny the Vic 2 box has Bismarck in an action pose on an active warfront on the cover and VICTORIA in big words above his head.

"Rule by Iron, Conquer Through Blood!"

Both Bismarck and Victoria do have eyes and faces, so they are basically the same person.

I mean.... you're wrong. It's your right to be wrong.

Victoria 3 is by every definition a grand strategy game.

It's just a strategy game/light economic simulator now.

It's not Grand Strategy Game anymore. Too simplified in many aspects. Not only in warfare.

Every country plays like communist country. This is a management game, not a grand strategy game like Vicky 2.

Risk is Grand Strategy and is about as simple as it gets. Scale, not complexity makes Grand Strategy grand.

Is it? Where are the major differences you had in V2 between command economy and laissez-faire ? What about the same technological/society tree for everyone which simply self-discovers itself no matter what ? Westernization gone, local tradition reduced to some silly autocratic form of government, commerce a masquerade, resources spread based on an idiotic levelling base and so on.

It is an extremely poorly made game, there's nothing complex about its economic side, just muddy, and boringly bland.

I miss the whole system of victoria 2. China no longer needs to westernized it just starts off with all the same tech no differences. Doesn't need to paritalize westernize then fully westernize to catch up in weapon and other tech. You can no longer crash the global economy which is a bad thing. No longer will factories matter and what other people buy ever the global economy doesn't really exist as it did in vick2. republic goverments don't matter we have 0 difference between, communist, republic, nationalist, no capitalist like the other one that made factories and railroads. EVERY nice system is gone.

Same tech tree, not the same tech. There is still a bunch of catch up to do.

The market is significantly better in Vic3. Vic2s markets were not a "nice thing."

I admit the self discovery of technology is very off putting. That’s my biggest complaint
