Factorio actually has combat.
No? Vikky was a Game focused on Geopolitics and Colonialism/Nationalism.
Now its just a click on expand factory simulator...
Economy was always the name of the game.
But it's not a sequel to Victoria 1 and 2. It's no longer GSG.
I always thought it was funny the Vic 2 box has Bismarck in an action pose on an active warfront on the cover and VICTORIA in big words above his head.
"Rule by Iron, Conquer Through Blood!"
Both Bismarck and Victoria do have eyes and faces, so they are basically the same person.
Victoria 3 is by every definition a grand strategy game.
It's just a strategy game/light economic simulator now.
It's not Grand Strategy Game anymore. Too simplified in many aspects. Not only in warfare.
Risk is Grand Strategy and is about as simple as it gets. Scale, not complexity makes Grand Strategy grand.
Is it? Where are the major differences you had in V2 between command economy and laissez-faire ? What about the same technological/society tree for everyone which simply self-discovers itself no matter what ? Westernization gone, local tradition reduced to some silly autocratic form of government, commerce a masquerade, resources spread based on an idiotic levelling base and so on.
It is an extremely poorly made game, there's nothing complex about its economic side, just muddy, and boringly bland.
Same tech tree, not the same tech. There is still a bunch of catch up to do.
The market is significantly better in Vic3. Vic2s markets were not a "nice thing."
