i have nothing against a new sound as long as it is cool and loud not like in other games where devs are afraid of useing loud sounds
but i have to say i kinda like these pew pew sounds and i fu..ing love the plasma cannon when ever i take a break from martyr and come back and shoot this thing im instantly hooked xD
the emperor protects
peace ;-)
Not trying to be disrespectful, it just sounds... so... underwhelming. I'm enjoying the game quite a bit, but every time I fire a plasma weapon I expect a lot of bass and it's kinda odd not to hear it.
And well, if GW has a say in what you use I wouldn't expect it to get changed either. But, I digress.
Other than that I think the sounds are great overall.
Games Workshop is notorious for being absolutely slipshod with quality control. That's not a mark against you guys in any way, I'm only pointing out that GW's approach to anything lore or canon-wise is basically "okay yeah whatever, good enough." The OP is correct in his assessment (there's also the fact that plasma weapons are unreliable and would sometimes spontaneously explode instead of shoot, and that personal teleporters could do terrible, terrible things to you on occasion, but obviously for gameplay reasons we can't have that).
Still this is a relatively minor thing and the majority of the things shown in game are represented as they should be for the 40k universe, so you're way ahead of the curve compared to tons of other studios who got the license
EDIT: oh i was wrong they exist see here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KspMnDUU8w
i guess you where right they make a diffrent sound ...
no offense im just kidding around xD
peace
