Heart of the Emberstone FAQ: Have a Question? Start Here!
Have a Question? Start Here!

Q: So, is this an Episode or a Sequel?
A: Rather than a series of similar, short experiences released over a single year like most episodics are, The Gallery is a series of chapters that continues to build forward over time. Heart of the Emberstone is the type of step up in terms gameplay length, polish, and mechanics that you would expect from a sequel.

Q: Yeah, but, how long is the game?
A: Heart of the Emberstone usually takes between 3 - 5 hours depending on the player, varying largely due to the openness of VR gameplay.

Q: Woah, this music is awesome?
A: Our Original Soundtrack is composed by the legendary Jeremy Soule, while the credits and teaser trailer music is by synthwave producer Stilz. The Original Soundtrack is currently available as free DLC to all owners of Heart of the Emberstone on Steam.

Q: What if I’m of the Oculus Persuasion?
A: The Steam version of Heart of the Emberstone includes an additional launcher for native support of Oculus Rift (the same as you’d receive if you bought it on Oculus Home). If you would like to play the Oculus version on Steam, simply right-click the game in Steam and select Properties > Betas > native_ovr.

Q: Ok, what about a PSVR version?
A: We’re currently planning a port to PSVR, but if you’d like to see PSVR support sooner rather than later, please let us know in the forums!

Q: I’ve got an Iron Stomach; does this game support traditional locomotion (aka Stick Move)?
A: Yes! Cloudhead has a long history of dedication to comfort in VR, so Blink teleportation will remain the default for new players, but players can enable free locomotion in the settings.

Q: Are there accessibility features?
A: There are puzzles which require some physicality to solve, but The Gallery is at first an exploration game, and not an action game. It is designed to consider varying heights, hearing impairment (subtitles are in at launch), color-blindness, and includes various skin tones and gender-neutral hand sizes in the settings to ensure immersion for all players.

Q: I heard this game supports the Valve Index controllers?
A: Cloudhead has enjoyed a rich relationship with Valve, and was one of the first studios to receive the next-gen SteamVR Knuckles for feedback and collaboration. You can learn more about our Index support in this thread.

Q: I can’t wait another 8 years to finish the story—how many more Episodes are there?
A: We have one more episode planned in the current series, but The Gallery universe goes well beyond Elsie’s story...

Q: I was a Kickstarter backer and have a question about my pledge?
A: Please email us at support@cloudheadgames.com using your backer email and we’ll be happy to help you out.

So glad to finally see this homepage. It's been quite a wait for those of us who bought Episode 1 in the early spring of 2016, since which time no other team has managed to create anything as fully fleshed out as that, with the amount of polish and immersion in therms of gamplay, puzzles, and voice acting. Glad to see it was able to be completed, and I look foward to playing!

I know you are selling these as standalone games, but would be cool if they could be played together (a little like Serious Sam in croteams Fusion). Because at the end of the first episode, I would love to skip the credits and teleport straight into ep 2.... Making it feel like I am playing just one game

Could make for some seriously epic game session one day. :-)

Oh I like that idea! Would be awesome if the gametime was a total of around 12-16 hours... start playing the night before, sleep in the tent on the beach, and wake up and spend the day in the gallery...

They just gotta make some tracked food and drinks so we dont havr to ever come out of vr... hahaha
I would like to see this on the PSVR :-) Been playing Solus and that has been awesome on PSVR. This game looks great so please bring to PS4 too!!!
In case you guys need some further motivation, PSVR support is always welcome for VR titles! :D The more platforms, the better!
will you guys support vive trackers for locomotion?
