Seeing how NieR:Automata is on the list of games confirmed and supported by Valve to work with Proton, isn't it better to just direct people having issues to Steam Support per Valve's directions? NieR:Automata is already a verified and supported game, after all.
2. 4.15 maybe? Whatever is in Mint right now
3. Ryzen 1600 + GTX 1060 3GB

6. Both 3.7 and 3.7.4, they provide identical experience
Game runs without additional fiddling around. XB1 controller works both wired (xpad) and wireless (xpad-neo) with no issues whatsoever.
The only issue is heavily reduced performance compared to windows when the game is at 1080p. Smooth 60 fps at 720p, but ugly graphics. Suspicion is that the increased VRAM usage caused by DXVK is too much for the 3GB version card.
As always, vsync is entirely broken on nvidia linux. Default settings only lock the frame rate, but allow tearing, forcing full composition pipeline eradicates tearing, at the cost of unbearable stuttering and terrible frame pacing. Nvidia really needs to work on bringing gaming features to Linux. AMD should work fine, as long as latest kernel and Mesa are installed.

Seems to run fine for the first 10 minutes. Then starts to lag badly. Same happens with native version of Raise of the Tomb Raider. So might be driver related.

Kde with xrender and vsync off. Game can vsync. Llvm7 installed.
Ds4 with sc-controller
Ds4 Works as is but feedback runs when It wants. Sc-controller somewhat fix that. It's not perfect.
Great performance hit compared to Windows. 1080p is smoth without hangs or stutter even with 8x msaa. Cant run at Full speed at 1440p like in Windows.
Sadly, this game is best played in Windows.

6. It has worked perfectly till now with whatever version was the mainstream latest. Currently playing it with the latest beta and it is pretty much perfect.
It has improved the performance by quite a lot since the first Proton version. It ran at ~45 FPS @ 1440p at first and now it is rock solid at 60 FPS. Only the AA (since the AO pass already introduces AA) and Blur disabled.
I will uninstall nvidia drivers and try Mesa . wish me luck (i dont wanna kernel Panic)
