Can Someone Please Help Me? <3 [FIXED]
Alright, so basically I decided to get back into Nier (It's been a while since I last played it.), but once I launch the game. It says "preparing to launch..." and the window disappears, and my status is set to "In-Game" like it should. HOWEVER, the game doesn't actually open....at all. No window, or anything whatsoever. So I try to go into my task manager to close out of the program. But I cant find it there either, yet it still says i'm in game on steam. Even after restarting steam, verifying my files, checking my drivers, disabling steam overlay, disabling cloud sync, and everything in between. I cant seem to get the damn game to even pop up on my screen! Can someone please help me? It would be GREATLY appreciated, and thank you for taking the time to read this.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean when you mentioned "FAR", however I listened to your advice and it worked! Thank you for your help!
Where is the file? I looked all around for it and found one dxgi file. Deleated it, but it still won't work.

... You didn't delete the one under system32, right? Please tell me you didn't do that, as that's a system critical file.

The file in question for OP lies in the game folder of NieR:Automata, that being the folder where the game is installed. Easiest way to navigate to that folder is right-clicking on the game on Steam, selecting Properties, selecting the Local Files tab and clicking on Browse Local Files.

If you're a new player then your issue might be something else entirely. OP have had NieR:Automata installed for a while, so that's why I expected that he had two versions of FAR installed in the game folder at the same time (one being the old version in dxgi.dll, and the other being the new version in dinput8.dll). This issue, however, is only something users of the old version of FAR (like, before the summer) might experience. New players will not have a dxgi.dll file from an older version of FAR in the game folder.

I'll get back to you. I'm reinstalling the game (again) now. Hopefully the FAR files come back so I can find the launcher and umimstall. That was how it was fixed before. I've had the game for a while as well.

Uninstalling the game through Steam does not remove FAR related files from the game folder. Similarly, the latest automated installer for FAR is unable to remove the old version of the mod. You'll have to manually navigate to the folder and verify that the file does not exist.

In these cases I typically just recommend people to remove all files and folders from the game folder until only these ones remain: https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/808804068655852551/1CC119D2F8F8A2C2AD9519FA15027333A263C31D/

Then you can go ahead and verify that the game launches properly. After that you can reinstall FAR using the automated installer.
Hel, I don't want FAR anyway. I thought "I'll pick it up and try it." Managed to fix nothing and crippled the game. I can deal with the letterbox look. I can PLAY with the black bars. I'll give it a shot when its done here. About 20%.

I mentioned this in another thread, but you can try Armada's standalone fullscreen fix: https://github.com/Armada651/NierFullscreenFix/releases

It is basically the fullscreen fix and nothing else. It have a much higher compatibility rate than FAR, although it obviously doesn't sport the same amount of features as FAR does. But it is capable of fixing the fullscreen issue at least.
