Screen freezing, Game Continues Running?

Hey guys,

I've tried researching a fix on here but I can't seem to find it. Sadly to say, I can't even make it past the prologue because the game always manages to freeze, but keep the game running behind it. I can still hear all of the sounds, move, do actions, etc., but the screen will remain frozen until i shut the game down.

I loved the first nier to death, so I'm really hoping a fix for this comes out soon.

(Attempted to run the game on setting ranging from High to Low)

GTX 780
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
12gb RAM
Intel core i7 CPU 950@ 3.07GHz

There is no fix for this problem yet on Nvidia. But Me being like you and loving the first Nier to death I just had to play it. So I downgraded my nvidia driver to Version 365.10 and I get way less crashes. It still sucks, and its not ideal, but its what I can work with until they finally patch it. Also install the FAR fix which fixes resolution problems. Its a sticky thread on the front page. Hope this gets you started.

I couldn't even begin to say how to help. My nvidia has held up without any issues through the entire game on up to date drivers.

I too have the screen freezing issue with my gtx 780 ti

save often and learn how to close the game from the main menu without looking... (start, left, scroll down until you stop hearing clicks, A, left, A)

Using a 780ti myself, screen freezes as soon as the flying bit is over at the beginning and it switches to 3rd person, gone through that section at least 10 times now.

Happens to me too, freeze but the game continue play, infatc i stop play this game, waiting patch/fix.

Dont forget to leave a negative review untill the game is fixed, right now SE is not even acknowledging the existence of the frezing issue, some internet noise is needed.

I'm interest know if the players console complain for this problems too.

theres lots of discussions on this very problem, I'm having the same with a titan x pascal, so it doesn't matter what your specs are when it happens. some reckon it's the shaders used in - game that aren't optomized for pc, others reckon that for some reason the driver restarts. I'd hazard a guess to most of the people saying the res fix works are on AMD cards
