Turned off Antialiasing
For some reason when I turn off antialiasing and leave everything else on max settings I can run the game perfectly at 60 fps. To be honest the antialising isn't that noticeable either. Im on a R9 380 and 8 gb of ram. Not complaining, but just curious why this is.

Turn off MSAA and use ambient occlusion which has it's own AA. I recomend using also the FARFIX for better AO etc...

AA is a huge resource hog in this game, probably due to a combination of the type of AA and poor optimization in general. Using AO is the superior option IMO because it has much less performance overhead and makes the game look noticeably better while also reducing jaggies a little.

AA generally eats a lot of your framerate/performance, while not improving the overall look/feeling of a game that much. It's something you can turn on for nice screenshots or if you have a very high-end Plattform.

The only reason i have it on is because i have a 1070 in my new system, on my old laptop i used to play on before i always had it turned off. I recommend this to everyone with framerate-problems, not just in automata.

The AA setting toggles MSAA, which is very expensive. It's a PC only option (and it stupidly gets turned up to 8x when using the high preset).

The game doesn't even work right with the MSAA (it breaks the dithering for LoD/draw distance). Everybody should have it turned off.

The AO setting already toggles the normal post-process AA that gets used on the PS4 Pro. It's a fairly high quality implementation and is more than suitable for this game.

I leave Anti-aliasing on 2X, becase I play at 4K, and you just don't notice anything higher.
