Awesome! Please make it full-controller support!
Hope the game gets FIVE (5) Trading Cards later?

Considering the base game is free, trading cards may be a bit of an issue. Free games can have cards, but it does have some issues.

In order to get a trading card drop in a free game, you have to spend at least $10 on stuff for the game. I don't know if this applies to DLC either since it may be limited to ingame purchases. And this would be only 1 card drop, not half the set like a paid game would have. This means that free games with cards are going to generally require crafting booster packs with gems, which means the cards will be expensive compared to most other games.

DLC does not necessarily properly tie the game to the account, so you wouldn't get half the cards from that either.

So it may be easier to make the other episodes their own games rather than DLC if you're looking to do trading cards.

Alternately, provide a way to get Steam keys for Episode 1 if someone purchases the DLC on Steam somehow. Steam keys will let you activate the game, it counts as +1 to library for the game collector badges, and will enable card drops. (Relic Hunters Zero and Khimera: Destroy All Monster Girls both have Steam Keys you can activate for card drops and for it to actually count for your library)

Basically, the only way to get half the card drops for a free game is through Steam key activation.(which of course now means that reviews from those people would no longer be counted in the overall percentage)

The lack of card drops is not an issue. As you already said, you can just craft booster packs. And expensive trading cards is not an issue either. Expensive trading cards = more moneyz for publisher.
