Are missions required for any reason?
Like if I just leave it turned off in the options is it going to impact the game lol

There's only one outpost on the Yukon reserve that won't unlock unless you run the missions. You also get the .303 free from the Te Awaroa missions. Otherwise there's not much to actually gain from doing them besides some XP/credits while you're running around learning the reserve

Do you know if I can actually complete the missions? I saw a lot of complaints about bugs in regards to them =/

The missions on most reserves are reasonably easy. The ones on Layton and Hirsch are a bit tougher, but still possible with some patience and luck

Not really. They are optional. But they provide a little challenge sometimes which can be fun.
Pinger Jun 21, 2021 @ 7:36pm
Free xp and credits, might as well have them enabled and as you hunt some will get completed.

One I do if I restart on a new character, for a free weapon the 303 sporter rivals the M1 you get one at end of the New Zealand reserve

They are optional. I also want to add that at one point in medved main missions you can get Grankin's shotgun, that is an improved version of the Caversham Steward 12G (seems like that in it's statistics).

So i’m at a point where i don’t mind doing them, but now i’m more concerned on actually being able to complete them due to technical reasons or bugs
Falcon Jun 22, 2021 @ 2:12am
As mentioned, most of the main mission arcs for the DLC maps are quite easy and can be completed in 20 hours or less by an experienced player. The ones for the main maps sometimes require a good deal of creativity and dedication to get through depending on how RNGeezus distributes the animals on your map. I've completed the Layton story arc twice, and know of people who've completed Hirschenfeld though Hirsch is MUCH harder
Voodoocola Jun 22, 2021 @ 2:14am
The Missions on the maps are for two resons in my opinion:

1. To learn where animals are and which ones.
2. To give you a kind of challenge for people who need goals / a carrot.

I mean without the missions it would be a sandbox, would be totally fine to me but some people would complain the maps were be boring and stuff (as usual) without missions.
I think its personal taste, atleast on some maps you will get rewarded with a special version of Guns which you cant buy so if you want to get these you have to do the missions.

yeah i’m not referring to ease of completion, but the bugs everyone is saying is prevalent in actually letting someone do them. unless i’m missing something in all the reviews for dlcs here, it seems to be a long standing issue. i appreciate your insight but i don’t know why you keep talking like i’m referring to something else when i state pretty clearly what i am saying

Right. As I've said twice now, the bugs are not a problem in any of the DLC maps, and they are easily completed in 20 hours or less if you even kind of know what you're doing. BUGS really aren't a problem with the 2 base game maps so much as there are missions that require shooting certain animals in certain locations. The devs have since changed the animal distributions so that they no longer spawn at those locations, but not changed the missions so they can take some creativity and be quite time consuming to complete.

You've said nothing in your previous two posts that actually answered my questions, as you didn't remotely confirm whether or not bugs were actually an issue but rather gave me a vague estimated length of time it takes to complete said missions. Time consuming aspects aren't really a concern of mine lol.

I brought it up due to a hefty amount of reviews I've seen saying otherwise, however I've learned to take reviews on steam with a grain of salt. I don't really know how else I could have made it clear what kind of answer I was expecting.
Falcon Jun 22, 2021 @ 2:35am
Yeah. Most of those reviews are written by people who've barely tried, and not asked for help when they ran into problems
Falcon Jun 22, 2021 @ 2:37am
The game also has an official discord that's alot more active than the Steam forums if you need help or want to drop bye and post trophy shots:

There are no bugs (anymore). I have successfully completed ALL missions and ALL side missions on ALL maps

There most certainly are still bugs on some maps. Missing blood trails, animals ignoring you despite standing ten feet away as mentioned above. Also sometimes, your shot doesn't register. These I have encountered mostly in Parc Fernando.

Despite these bugs however, I too have also manged to complete all missions and side missions for the maps that I do have (although I cheated and looked up the locations for the stone circle mission in Parc Fernando - because that mission is stupid and impossible).

My only issue with completing the missions is that it is rather anti-climatic once you do them all. They should give us an ending cinematic like the game trailers, or at the very least scrolling end credits with music. Just something to acknowledge the achievement.
