Field dressing

How do I skin/field dress animals? The first deer I killed it propped me with a button command. But now when I kill rabbits fox or anything else, it seems like I can’t skin them.

no when you kill an animal just approach it and hit the E button to harvest it that is all you can do it then details what the animal is and the points you got from it.

As for small game like squirrels and rabbits you can shot them but they CAN NOT be harvested the smallest you can harvest at this point is Foxes and Coyotes anything bigger is fine to also harvest!

I was thinking about playing this game and was curious about field dressing animals. I noticed these comments were kind of old and was wondering what it was like in-game. How realistic is field dressing animals? Is it like a simulation or is it just pressing a button and an automatic thing like in RDR2?

The Last Frontier is wrong about one point. You can harvest rabbits, just be sure you use the right weaponry. The valid weapons are shotgun, .22 caliber and (I think) 300 grain arrows. I highly recommend the ,22LR rifle. It's also quite handy for shooting ducks that are 100m away out on the lake.

that comment I think was pre rabbit HA HA that was way back when game first came out. So wasn't wrong when I posted it HA HA
