Guess I'll have to watch a LP instead.
Have you tried closing your eyes or walking away from the computer?
Yeah, sorry about that. I'm just getting kind of tired of seeing people ask the same question over and over when the answer is right on the store page. But, I get it, though. It just looks fun and you really wanna play it. I guess people either just dont see the message or just really hope that there's a non-vr version. I haven't really had that good of a day, so sorry I got a little salty.
It's two tiny screens on your face that lets you look around with your head movements. You walk around the room with wii nunchucks in your hand. That just screams novelty gimmick.
Also which would you rather use a mouse or joystick to control your screen or shell out $800 bucks so you can do the same thing with your head, most people will go with the first option? I'm not jumping on the VR train because I'd rather not have my face be all sweaty and going to work with an oval mark around my eyes like a frickin raccoon, that's not sexy.
If anyone actually defended VR they're just trying to justify their expensive investment or just fetishizing the idea of the potential for the product.
It's cool, I didn't really take offense to your comment. I understand what you maybe feeling, and just had to express your opinion. But seriously I would have wanted to play this so bad.
You know, I basically thought the same thing, until I actually used VR. Watching the 2d videos does not at all do it justice. There's a lot more to VR than just using your head to look around. Because it's in 3d, it really feels like you're right there inside the game. It's truly amazing. You really shouldn't bash it so bad when you haven't even tried it. Like I said, you really can't even begin to comprehend how incredible it is until you've tried it. To answer your question, I'm finding it very hard to play any of my non-vr games anymore. I've had my VIve for about 2 weeks now and I haven't even played a single non-vr game since then. I'm currently downloading VorpX so that I can play some of my non-vr games in vr. Yeah, it's a ton of money but it was worth every penny.
For now (thinking of the price of the thing, I also think that VR is still a gimmick, I honestly feel it needs to mature a bit longer for it to be really interesting. This is odd though because the first time that I ever tried VR was roughly 20 years ago playing quake in VR. Though my memory might not be all that fantastic about it I was more excited about it then, than I am about it now.
