Objects outside play area
This game is great, so stoked that these guys teamed up, and to give it away free... so awesome.
Hopefully they will fix the problem of objects being outside the play area tho.
I have a large enough play area, but for some reason a lot of the objects i need to touch to move on are outside the play area.
Its rather difficult when the edge of your play area is a solid object.
Do you think they'll do a patch to fix this?

How big is your play space? You need 2m x 1.5m (6.5ft x 5ft)

@balianthemighty
That is most likely the playspace he has. I have the same playspace and the same problem, so the game either needs a quick patch to fix the location that the chaperone grid is place in/the distance of objects from it, or the minimum placespace should be updated.

Ah, ok. I haven't tried it yet but I've been meaning to download it. That probably is the issue then. I have 4m x 3.5m so I'll probably test it later today to see if maybe you just need a larger space then they say.

I'm using a 2.2 by 2.4m playspace and can reach everything just fine. During the first step of the room setup you're asked to stand in the space's center and point at the screen -- perhaps double check that you're not standing too close to either of the edges here. Sorry about the trouble!

Well, you also have a bigger playspace than what you guys set for the minimum required space. 2.4 x 2.2 is a fair amount bigger than 2 x 1.5

True! I've got one of the bigger living rooms in our team but that was just for reference. We've had testers play in smaller spaces and made sure not to place critical interactables outside of bounds. Of course things can still get a bit tight if you're measuring above / around furniture. We currently don't have a way to work around space limitations like these, but it'd be great if you could let us know about specific things that are hard to reach!

I ended up getting stuck on the second section (you know, tree guy's tree place) as I couldn't reach the battery. It wasn't too far out of bounds, either. Just moving it forward slightly would fix that issue for anyone with the minimum placespace (Its the 1.5m width that is the problem in this case).

I have the minimum playspace and the furthest objects were just at the edge of it. I was able to reach everything but stuff could be just a little bit closer..

Can't reach the battery on first section. :(

Or we could have some kind of movement controls.

My problem was in another dimension. I could not pick up the cartridge because the floor was slightly below my actual floor. :D

Luckily I have OpenVR-AdvacnedSettings installed so I could run its Floor Fix while still in the game. Invaluable!

While it's not entirely the game's fault (it seems SteamVR has some oddities with the floor, like sometimes after calibrating it sets it to waist height), but it might make sense to increase the height of the bounding box on that one object slightly for anyone who runs into the same problem and doesn't know how to fix it.

Same issue. Playing with a 2m x 1.5m play area.

I did need to reach out of the play area to get the battery and reach the public defenders.

The 1.5m limit was the problem and I was just needing to reach out of the area by 10cm or so, so look like is should be ease to fix by moving the battery a little closer and making the defenders desk just a little closer so the bit you need to interact with is inside the play area.

Other than the space issue you game works well and is quite a bit of fun :-)

Hey guys I also have a 2 x 1.5m playspace and have run into similar issues with Accounting and a few other VR games, such as Trials on Tatooine. The best solution I have found (as each person's problem seems specific to their setup) is to use the excellent Chaperone Tweak tool: https://www.reddit.com/r/Vive/comments/4yoihe/chaperonetweak_an_invr_chaperone_editor/

This is a VR app that lets you see and set both your floorspace (play area) and chaperone bounds. It let me create a far more accourate representation of the walls/objects for my chaperone.

For Accounting issues, you want to move your entire setup (floor space + chaperone bounds) in the opposite direction of the object that's currently through a wall. Make sure you read the included instructions to understand how edit the various aspect using the Vive remote.

IMHO the easiest solution would be adding the option to extend the reach of the ingame cursors a little bit.
