Forum guidelines - a.k.a. the “don’t be a jerk” principle - please read before posting!
The easiest way to stay within the rules of this forum is by following one simple principle: don’t be a jerk and you won’t get hit with the ban hammer. We know that 99.99% of members in this community aren’t and won’t be jerks, but we want to set out some guidelines so there’s no doubt about what kind of behavior is inappropriate.

Keep it friendly
A bit of friendly rivalry never hurt anyone, but slings and arrows belong on a battlefield - not an Internet forum - so please keep the chat good-natured, because hurling insults is a great way of highlighting that you’re a jerk.

No hate speech
If we see someone engaging in hate speech, it’s an insta-ban for them, as this is way beyond jerky behavior. We define hate speech as “any speech that attacks a person or group on the basis of attributes such as race, religion, ethnic origin, sexual orientation, disability, or gender.”

Stay on topic
Keep posts within topics, on that topic.

Don’t spam
No repeating posts, no thread necromancy, no “first!” posts, no key begging. If you wonder “Will people think I’m a jerk for posting this?” feel free to contact the mods first and we’ll let you know.

Be constructive with criticism
We hope everyone will love Ogre, but we’re also completely fine with receiving feedback. Just make sure that when you have criticism, that it’s constructive and polite.

Inappropriate content is inappropriate
War is a dirty business, but this forum is clean as a whistle. Do not include any content in your posts (including avatars) that contains gore, nudity, illegal drugs, or anything else we deem inappropriate. If you’re not sure, ask a mod.

A moderator’s decision is final
Just as on the battlefields of Ogre, on the forums we rule with an iron fist. Any decisions made by a moderator are final.

Thanks!

howdy AurochJake and everyone else working on Ogre. Let me 1st say that i hope this new version of Ogre lives up to how much fun it has been to play Ogre over the last few decades.

All your guidelines seem legit, except that last one ... if a moderator tells me the sky is actually made up of carebear marshmellows i won't hesitate to call him/her on that bs. ^^

ttfn :)

We certainly hope so too!

Why, what do you think the sky is made of exactly?! ;)

All we mean by this is that our decision on what is appropriate for the forum is final.

Thanks, and welcome to the forum :)

My dear mods:

I've posted several times in the trade forum and kept my posts updated weekly, even including notes to please not delete an active attempt to trade with other players... of which there appear few, and fewer still who are interested in trading.

Why do you delete these posts when they are short, precise, and legit?

I've spent a ton of gems on buying up your cards and want the full 5 badge set, and I'm supporting you because your games remind me of the golden years of tabletop gaming... but when you remove trade request posts you also remove networking attempts. With an average of less than 3 people playing per day, maybe it's time to start letting the trade forum get a little cluttered with a post that says someone is touching your game?

Please "don't be a jerk" to traders!
