Is there away to click a button and advance by 1 frame per click to do stopmotion filming?

You can move a stick left or right on Oculus and Microsoft MR, and press left or right on a touchpad on Vive to advance on a timeline. When the timeline is closed it will advance just by 1 frame and when it's opened and with selected objects that have animations—it will jump to the nearest keyframe.

Is it what you asked for?

Thank you yes! I did notice however it's very touch - i accidently go into play mode with the touch pad - it would be very nice to have a single dedicated "take a picture" mode and advance a frame per click even if it were a giant virtual button.

Do you mean taking a picture from a camera? You can take a picture from a camera from Timeline as well by pressing that Export button on the top right.
You can also press on "Space" to make a high-fidelity screenshot from your eyes. That screenshot will appear in Screenshots folder in your project. And photos from cameras go into Stuff/Photos.

Noted it about advancing the keyframes. We work on a new Timeline. Want to simplify it and make it more powerful at the same time.

I mainly just meant that it would be nice to have a single button mode so you can't accidentally click play - while recording a stop motion animation - so day the left right joystick becomes a single frame advance mode - you go back or forward on frame when you press left or right - so you don't go forward fast and don't accidentally hit play.
