Server Resets spawn you out of the boat
Server resets come at inopportune moments and the least you could do is push the spawns when on a boat in the water to closer to shore. I don't think losing hours of work and effort is very realistic as it is a bad part on developers, how are you even supposed to recover from being dropped at the bottom of the ocean full kit. Can we not get a countdown or some kind of warning at least.

Hello there,
On official servers, the server resets happen at fixed times, every 4 hours, starting at midnight. These are also fixed to their according time-zones, which means you can very well prepare for them, if you take the fixed times into consideration.

The reason that happens is that vehicles only spawn when a player is near for performance reasons. This means that when you are on a boat of raft, your character spawn in first then the craft. Best I found it to make sure I know when the server is going to restart and also put all my heavy gear in the craft so that I don't drown when I end up in the water.

every server hosted by a player has a 5 minute timer before reset, yet for some reason the officials don't

And 27 times in between coz server dies out of nowhere.

Definitely top of my annoyances list!

Sure, Most servers operate on a set restart schedule, but as others have commented, there are always unplanned restarts and disconnects. Even for routine restarts, it's easy to become so immersed in the game as to loose track of time, or miss the warning message.

Could there be an easy fix? Such simply reducing player carry weight to zero for just long enough after a reset-respawn to allow a player to get back in the boat...

...or allowing players to wear life jackets, which will keep them afloat no matter how geared they are...

...or as just spawn the boats in first...

Thanks

What happens during the server reset/crash is that the characters get kicked from the game prior to the server actual shutdown, vehicle momentum then takes effect.

That is why when you are driving a car and you log back in your car is not near but if you walk forward you should find it for most circumstances.

So your character is at one point and your vehicle, boat, plane is in a different spot!

We have been asking for a very log time to fix the reset/crash in boats- character drown and the same for the plane- only that is a fall death and loss of plane.

You would think that a QOL issue that makes players rage quit would get a priority fix!

The attitude presented to the players has been don't wear gear when in the boat and wear a parachute when in the plan.

Try to use that parachute when logging back and and see how that works! People have reported that it doesn't!

this is why i try to avoid flying, any unplanned event that crashes the game or you lose connection for any reason it`s goodbye, at least with cars and bikes you have a chance of recovery, they can keep a plane up in the sky hoping you`ll log back in very soon.

We're aware of the issues that these create for players and we'll find a way to fix it for players that are caught in the air on the sea at the time of server restart. Or at least create messaging that is more alerting which would indicate that the server restart is imminent. All in all, we'll see what can be done.

Man, don't wanna sound rude, really, but your game is more than 6 years out on the market! These are essentials! Just like a properly functioning server browser would be.
There's no properly working singleplayer, there's no properly working multiplayer, so what is this? After 6 years years mind you! Just take a second to think about it.
I read about the same complaint and that same statement of "finding a way, thinking about a solution" or something along that lines like 2 years ago. Seriously, how long does it take to implement a simple notification to officials or how much "thinking about it"?
I'm not even talking about fixing the issue itself here, only about SOME QoL for the time being for your players.
Sorry, I just don't get how that's something that is taking years when it should be an absolute no-brainer. Sorry.

Ear splitting air-raid siren and a blinking red countdown top left corner.

i would love to be playing scum in 5 years time and see a message pop up saying this server will crash in 5 minutes due to unknown error, land now if your in a plane.
it ain`t going to happen but it would be fun to see.

You need to setup server sided restart announcements, how or why this doesn't already exist is beyond me.

The amount of BS we admins have to deal with because of it (Yes I have the times listed in the timed messages) but that shouldn't be the only way to do it.

Basic admin commands are lacking, basic admin tools to actually catch cheaters is lacking, why can't we spectate players directly from their POV, the admin drone is pathetic, if this game had been opened up to modding this would have been all done for you, but no, we still don't have modding, we still don't have decent admin related commands or tools, even basic ♥♥♥♥ like mech still 1 shooting you causing a C4 no matter what you set their damage too is a joke, puppets still causing bleeding in 1 hit, its just sad. if you won't fix this stuff let the community do it for you!

This is a pain and needs a fix before 1.0.

I do like the idea of being weightless for 30 secs once logged in to be able to get back into boat.

This is an amazing idea.

Planes could all be aquatic and just teleporting to ground or water once logged in.

Fratman, hope you'll do it. I've requested it for quite some time....years....
We have message for on/off raiding and not for server restart....
