Because it's VR ;)

Unfortunately we cannot have graphics of current AAA titles running fluid in VR with 90 FPS in 3D. That is why graphics in VR are (in general) not so crisp as they are in traditional games.

For Konrad the Kitten we decided to have this comic-like look. That's a design philosophy. The graphics will be enhanced during Early Access (as it already happened since the release) but the comic-style itself will remain.
