White screen (but sound and controls work) on Steam Deck

Seems like the game is running and controls are working (i.e. I heard music playing and when I press the A button I hear a sound) on Steam Deck, however the screen is just white - This is using the latest Proton package, when setting it to the native Steam Linux Runtime it crashes. Would really like to get this running on Steam Deck, seems like it would be a great game to play on it.

Hi! Do you have the "Guild of the Artificers" DLC? SOA doesn't officially run on a Steam Deck, however we did get it to work with the following configuration:

1.) Require "Guild of the Artificers" DLC
2.) Use "Proton Experimental"

If you do not have the "Guild of the Artificers" DLC, it's still possible to get SOA to run but it is a bit more involved. There is a guide pinned on our Discord (https://discord.com/channels/287447752609234955/287451413422931969/995181453262471259) if this applies to you.

The DLC worked, thanks. Are you using nwjs or electron or something? I have a game on steam that uses nwjs & webgl and it didn't have any issues running on the deck besides the screen touches mapping to the wrong places

Yeah the game is wrapped using a very old version of Electron and we cannot easily upgrade since we are using a feature that was removed in the newer versions.

Checks out, I had to use much older versions of nwjs due to performance regressions with newer versions of webkit and v8

i just switched to proton 4.11-13 and everything worked great.
