For any questions related to Party Panic contact [e-mail] or post on the forum here. When emailing about a bug or problem running the game please include your system specs (operating system, CPU, GPU) as well as the log file. These will be the first things I will ask for and if you include them in the initial email it means I can get to work on a solution for you sooner. Please note that every time you start Party Panic the log file is overwritten, so make sure the last time you ran the game the error happened otherwise the log file isn't very helpful!

The log file can be found at..
Windows: C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/PartyPanic/PartyPanic_Data/output_log.txt

OSX: Open a new finder window. Select Go > Go To Folder... found at the menu bar at the top of the screen. Enter (without quotes) "~/Library/Logs/Unity", it is the "Player.log" file.

When will the game be done?

Not sure! The development team consists of me and me alone and there is a lot of work left to do. I'd like to have things 100% complete (25 minigames) sometime in February at the latest, which for once seems like an accurate estimate.
I overestimated how fast I could work and underestimated how much was left to do, and I apologize. Find out about the new timeline in the roadmap below.

Can I buy a 4-pack?

Yes

Will my controller work?

If you're using Windows, everything should work. If it does not work out of the box there is a way in-game to remap controls, so as long as your controller can be detected it should be able to be remapped to work with Party Panic. If you're using OSX or Linux you may have difficulty connecting controllers as some controllers can not be detected by the OS. Steam Controllers only work with Windows. See more info in the Controller Support thread.

Do I have to use a controller?

No, you don't have to, but it's highly recommended. Any usb or wireless controller+receiver should work. If you're dead set on using a keyboard, by all means go for it. The default keyboard and mouse controls are pretty easy to use now. You can customize your keyboard layout to find something that works best for you if you don't like the default keyboard configuration via the options menu.

Can I play the game alone?

Yes. The game can be played with one player against bots, although the more human players you have the more fun the game is! All the party minigames are built around 4 players so it is recommended to leave bots enabled, however you don't have to - the bots can be disabled and the game can be played with 2-4 players. Party Panic also has public online multiplayer, so if you don't have anyone to play against locally, go to the Online menu and you might be able to find a public match (or create one and let others looking for a game join you!)

Does it work with Steam Link, & In-home streaming?

Yes. Some users have reported getting a black screen on startup, see how to fix this here

My PS4 (Dualshock 4) controller isn't working in Steam Big Picture!

There is an issue that prevents controllers from showing up properly when "PS4 Controller Support" is enabled in Steam Big Picture mode. It is recommended to disable "PS4 Controller Support" when playing Party Panic. You can disable this by finding Party Panic in your library when in Big Picture mode, and find the Manage Game > Controller Options menu. Here you can disable "Use Steam Configuration for PS4 Controllers". This setting will only affect Party Panic.

What languages?

Party Panic already has support for English, Spanish, German, French, Japanese, Turkish, Italian, Russian, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. More languages will be added slowly over the course of development. If you want to see a specific language leave a message on the forums!

I'm locked out of the game, can I reset all data?

You can hard-reset all the saved data (including controls) by holding the "R" key while in the controller remapping menu. You will know the reset was successful if you hear a sound. Once this hard-reset of data has been done, you will need to restart the game for the reset to take effect.

How do I check the FPS

To see your framerate, you can do this by opening up the FPS monitor (using the ` key near the top left corner of your keyboard) where the FPS will be displayed at the top left corner of the screen.

Controls are not responsive and feel laggy, what can I do?

Input is related to how fast the game is running, and if the game is running poorly some inputs can be missed causing "delayed' feeling inputs. To fix this see the next section...

Additionally, sometimes third-party controller mapping software or outdated drivers can cause slow inputs.

The game is running poorly with low FPS, what can I do?

In the options menu there are a few big things you can do to speed up the game. Most of the slowdown comes from rendering the game.
- Set the Graphics Quality to "Very Low"
- Set Camera Effects to "Off"
- Set Framerate to "30"
- Set the resolution to a smaller value (although this will cause bluriness/stretching if fullscreen is on)

Can I record gameplay of Party Panic and upload it online?

A lot of the text for "new" content hasn't been translated yet, I've been waiting for it to all be finalized before sending it back to the people helping with translation. This should be ready to go soon(ish)!

Hey, sorry to hear that! I've already done some optimization, and plan on doing yet another pass before the next update and hopefully it will make the game run nicer. I'll take another good look at the chicken game, were there any other places that stood out to you that caused lots of frame drops?

I should note that I think by default all the settings are set to the highest, lowering some settings in the meantime might help a bit.

Hey, sorry to hear that! I've already done some optimization, and plan on doing yet another pass before the next update and hopefully it will make the game run nicer. I'll take another good look at the chicken game, were there any other places that stood out to you that caused lots of frame drops?

It's kinda random, but tldr, it needs a huge optimization, coz' I don't think, I should have any problem to run smoothly this game on the best options.

I'm actually not sure. I don't see why Steam controllers shouldn't work on all OSes. Please send me a message and we can investigate, as I'm curious too but don't have access to a Steam Controller or a Steam OS device!

No sushi game...although I would love to make one like sushi-go-round from Pokemon Stadium... maybe soon!

No immediate plans for consoles yet. They're currently a "take a look at it once the game is done", the Switch is the first console I'd like to look at, as I think it would lend itself very well to that console. I can't make any promises at this point though, but it's absolutely something I've been thinking about for a while!
