Ending Discussion [SPOILERS ABOUND: USER BEWARE]
So I just beat the game and loved it. I didn't get the perfect ending, but I was left satisfied...but now on to the nitty gritty the ending teased at that sweet, sweet perfect ending.

How do I save Flanker? lol I obviously need the minimite to kill the archmage (if that is even him) so I cant tell him to run away really and I want to save my best buddy!

The secret room? after reading that one book on perception the minimite brought up a door that opened up but I didnt see any option for it...unless it was the one leading to the archmage, any thoughts?

Also I was super afraid to touch and read the teleportation book as I thought that it might brisk me away elsewhere.

And I guess bluntly, has anyone developed a walkthough yet?

I am also super curious about the 70 gold spear at the goat-men village and about a guy I was never able to come across "Callous" or "Callow"? (Ill have to check spelling later)

And is there a portion where if you have a "god" like Calvn (from that big temple at the end in part 2) or the other trickser or merchant "god" do they get "eaten up" for your own max stamina at some point?

And finally, a little theory crafting. Returning on the golden eagle there was some jesting going on with the minimite and the analander (at least if you kept Jann alive). He brings up some very good points, golden eagles, flying across all the terrain in a matter of days (weeks?) and they are invisible lol. It seems odd and kinda makes me happy that I was able to break the crown by using the book of imprisonment and put the other archmage from the book in control, but who knows how good or bad that is. So, is the Crown of Kings just an evil device? And how the heck does the archmage turn in a demon? He talked about a deal he made with his other half...is he the necromancer of throben?

If you read the book of teleportation a item will desapier from your bag.

You werent invisibel the archmage was the only reason why you couldnt have done this in the first place becouse he would have seen you,he is very powerfull and would have seen you comming.I mean in sorcery 3 you need to kill the serphents so your mission would be still a secret

By the way I recommand you that you look at the desk of the archmage and read his papers that just gives you some pretty nice backstory

He made the contract with the demon so he could live forever to kill you

Well I returned with the crown and thats my favourite ending you become a hero and you finally bring peace to your homeland.I mean that was the purpose of your enteier journey why destroying the crown

I the crown isnt evil it depands on who is in charge of the crown and what you do with the crown

Okay, apologies for the rather long reply, and ask me if you want anything more in-depth since I don't know the exact level of spoilers you want:

1. Flanker is under the control of magic, and magic counters magic.

1.5. Jann does not go away forever if you tell him to run from Flanker, he just goes into the room ahead.

2. The Book of Perception is what opens the passage to the Archmage, so you haven't missed anything.

3. The Book of Teleportation is one that I've never used, but I am pretty sure it's a trap.

4. No one has created a walkthrough yet as far as I know, but I'm willing to answer any questions you have (I might write a walkthrough after a few more playthroughs, since I know I missed a certain ending).

5. The Gold Spear was a required item in the original books, but as far as I know it acts as a general "Get out of a bad situation" item in this game, which is extra useful considering the rewind mechanics inside of Mampang.

6. Colletus is a ghost at this point, haunting the Whispering Bridge which is on the way to Mampang, he can help you, however.

7. You can get rid of your god at some point for a max stamina boost, but I haven't personally done it since I like Courga (God of Grace from the temple in part 2) quite a bit.

8. I'm fairly sure that the fact Jann says you could have just used an Eagle to get to the Archmage is just a light-hearted jab at the original gamebook, but there is also the point that the Archmage is an extremely powerful Seer, and that he would have still seen you on the back of the Eagle since you don't turn invisible while you are on one of them, and at that point he could have still sent all 7 Serpents after you mid-air.

8.5. I will answer the question about the Crown of Kings if you really want me to do so, but you can learn a lot of this in Part 3 if you ever want to do another playthrough.

9. The Archmage sold half his soul for a near 100% chance to kill you, and that half of him was transformed into that demon.

Also, as a small teaser which may make you want to play some more you can win without any help.

Hahaha it's always the pair of boorskin boots that gets dropped, taken or removed. Thats very interesting.

Also thanks for answering all that, I just became aware of the bottle from the old woman by the well from reading other posts.

And yes, I would like to hear spoilers on the crown of kings if you dont mind.

I guess I'm also having a hard time pin pointing the "perfect" ending. Is it a perfect ending if you get help defeating the guy since you befriend Jann and save Flanker again? Or is it perfect to do it on your own. Is it perfect to seal the archmage in the book and release the other one and keep her alive?...I guess the more I type it out the more it feels like there isnt.

Besides getting an unlimited amount of gold in mampang, is there a way to get a bunch of gold outside to get the 70 gold spear?

Thanks again for answering all of this!

I think the perfect ending is that one you think is the perfect one.For my its bringing the crown back and becoming a hero but for you its maybe destroying the crown so it could never be used again. You cant just decide a "perfect" ending.By the way i can think there are some people who didnt wanted to save Flanker,I mean he is a assasin and he trys to kill by your first encounter without knowing anything about you

There are quite a few you can consider the perfect ending, but my personal favorite involves doing a No Beacons All Serpents run in Part 3.

I play Swindlestones a lot in part 2 to the point that I've become semi-good at it, so I usually still have a bit of money by the time I'm at that location, but I believe there is also a way to get it for free involving being especially nice to the people with the Spear.

The Crown of Kings (spoiler warning, I advise anyone who wants to replay the series a more to not look.): The Crown of Kings was created to make the Humans think they were self-governed, while in reality the mages ruled everything in the Ancient World and could easily counter the Crown. The Crown itself I don't think is inherently evil, the Archmage only wanted it to stop you from killing him, which was foreseen by Bria, who told the Archmage on his own request.

Ahhh. Interesting. By doing the no beacons all serpent run, what does that do for the story?

It lets you pass up ZED entirely, as opposed to having to remove it. Also, some story things change, but I would recommend playing from part 3 and doing it on your own, unless you completely, absolutely, 110% want to know what changes, since I found it a very rewarding experience.

No, they mean't that that isn't the only way to accomplish the task the topic creator asked about.

I'm extremely hesitant to share, so here is a massive warning for all who want to experience NBAS for themselves, you have been warned.

Spoilers Ahead! Seriously:

Sorcery! 3:

Part 3 is a great and fun challenge when doing an NBAS run, and it's worth noting that you are unable to meet certain people such as Shadrack and Bria (at least in their normal forms) since you are unable to use any beacons.

Sorcery! 4:

The intro sequence starts off a lot differently, including the fact that the accusations of what you did to the land are all lies, "But the legends lie" is a dialogue option in the intro.

It goes on until Mampang fairly normally (with some people being slightly more nice as far as I know), you enter Mampang in whatever way you see fit, then something changes.

Enter Throben with his curse just as normal, but he lets you go on without being cursed if you desire (after warning you that it will be close to impossible), since you avoided destroying his entire homeland with the beacons in the previous game.

If the Archmage finds you in your dreams he will comment on the fact that you did it without the beacons. Other small dialogue changes occur as well.

You get to the Archmage with a means of stopping the Crown of Kings without dying even once, at this point you can accuse the Archmage of destroying the Ancient World and he will say that you forced him to do it, you then make it back to your homeland, the credits role, and it notes that you won without using ZED even once in an awesome manner as the screen pans over the map.

The Serpent of Time also shows up at the Stone Circles at the Klattabak Steppes, you have a chance to cast MAG there before it reveals itself, and then you can cast JIG or FIX to hold it in place for your sword.
