The current suspicion is the large amount of licensed music in the game; removing it from the game would be challenging as many of the tracks are part of the plot. Hopefully they can get the issue resolved.

As much as GOG sells the game for Cheap, the biggest downside of buying from GOG is the Removed Co-op and Multiplayer Mode. It's irritating to buy a game from GOG just to find out the Multiplayer modes are removed on the game. I'd personally buy it from humble bundle, or wait for a humble bundle sale for Spec Ops the Line, since Humble Bundle luckily always supplies you with Steam CD Keys for Games.

from what i heard, 2K removed the game from store fronts due to expiring licenses. A sad thing to see, no doubt. I think us gamers need to show publishers that we will not accept seeing our favorite games disappear into the oblivion

this is why I don't embrace a fully digital future. If anyone thought about buying this you can still very easily get a physical copy and not have to worry about any stupid licensing issues.

Yeah tell that again when the game become rare to find and cost an arm except if you're nosing into attic sales, or when you lose the box in a flood or when you move

I mean you can still install and play it if you bought a key previously. The greater issue is if the publisher just up and decides to start revoking keys for already bought games.... then you have a problem. The EU has protections against this, but the US doesn't....

It's sad that one of the best games against war is no longer available to buy because of licenses.

This is one of those games where a retail copy has a Steam key. I purchased the physical Premium Edition (with the FUBAR Pack) several years ago and that is how I have owned this game on Steam.

Yes they do. Films have been held back from re-release on home media or had songs changed due to music licenses expiring.
