Conroller remapping / rebind
I'd really like to remap a few steering options at my xbox one controller at PC but the game just offers 2x2 different layouts and not remapping commands by yourself.

I'd really would like to bind yaw from shoulder buttons to thumbstick but it's not possible. I even tried a few custom remapping tools but if I use them they cause conflicts with the game.

Why isn't remapping offered for a usual xbox controller but for mouse and keyboard?!

Has anyone else trouble with the control? Did you find a solution for remapping with a tool?

Dude you know how BF4 1 and V all allow this and it's a FPS?, :LEL:

2019 and we get 2000 joypad mappings

whats your point?

I am agreeing with you, I have been asking for stick YAW throttle since game release on console, yet they offer these controls for BF4 1 and V on console.

yes that's ridiculous

I had your problem....

...spent some time ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around with the controller reconfig in Steam and whilst I managed to get the thrust and yaw bound to the left thumbstick, and pitch and roll bound to the right, for whatever reason, I could not get the full functionality required to play the game.

I sat their thinking, £50, having to put up with this sh|t when it would be the easiest thing in the world for the developer to allow custom remaps........UNLESS OF COURSE THEY DON'T DO CUSTOM REMAPS TO PREVENT PEOPLE WITH NON THRUSTMASTER HOTAS STICKS FROM USING THEIR EQUIPMENT.....

fk this sh|t!

REFUND!

If your muscle memory is trained to use the gamepad like it is configured for virtually all other arcade flight games......then you are going to find the AC7 binds absolutely impossible to deal with......refund the game whilst u still have the chance.

yes that's inacceptable

Using YAW on the right stick (or left if you're a sth paw) makes flying much easier, and having the throttle/brake on same stick just makes flying so much more fun. I never ever use look, it's distracting and servers me personally no advantage.

Sad but true, I know I bring up BF series, but you don't have to re-learn from game to game, FPS have WASD mouse, which is why joypads have 2 joysticks, why would you alter this method? and I bet KB/M PC version of AC uses WASD and mouse right?.

You realise yaw is not proportional ?? even when setup on a joystick or rudder pedals, its on and off, ace combat has always had all or nothing yaw :/
EnoX Feb 4, 2019 @ 3:59pm
I agree with you guys, I thought it just concerns me. Good to know that I'm not the only one who can't handle this controller layout

Not true, UNLESS someone who has console version can verify the Joystick rudder YAW is digital or not.
The game has rudder on Joystick.

yes and having played the game with a joystick I can tell you it wallows from full limit to full limit, NOT proportional, rudder pedals, stick, controller, makes no difference

its all or nothing

No I asked if anyone had played the console version with their joystick.

you can set yaw on the xbox trigger axis from in game setting I prefer it that way as it feels more natural for my hand positions but it functions the same as a digital on or off and now also throttle is too.

SO yeah yaw might be true analog on ps4 but its seems is only digital on PC.

Some rebinding options would be good though.
there are some programs out there but I have not tried them

I do have Xb1 version, I should check myself as Analog isn't digital, it's treated a different way, more than likely you are right.
I'll report back, but the movement might be tiny, I noticed this in Project Wingman where YAW wasn't hugely noticeable, it was a corrective measure. Works well though.
People might not understand the nuances of YAW, what it actually does.
