Disabling autopilot via file tweak
As you all know scrubs aside who won't use yaw at all, Project Aces had the autopilot retardation fixed in ac0 and ac6, for whatever reason bring the thing back to make our lives harder after they got it fixed in the aforementioned tittles.

In ac7 tthey won't allow controller users to reassign such a worthless retarded ferature that serves no other purpose than to make your plane crash the moment you expect the less or to ruin any maneuver of yours specially that of gunning your target to a digital key for instance where it can no longer ruin us. They are that lazy not to allow you to reasign this thing elsewhere.

Autopilot ruins yaw gunning gameplay as well as low altitude maneuvers (as well as the post stall stuff). Allowing the player to disable it in another update would be a quality of life addition for sure, but these project aces are so lazy they haven't been able to do it in three patches or so, so nothing can be expected from them up to this point.

So, does anybody know a way to disable the autopilot feature via file tweaking?, is there a way to do it?

The only solution I found so far is to not press both buttons at the same time.

Do you have MS Xbox controller, or some logitech F310,F510,F710? If you have only xinput controller, there is not any solution i thing. If you have controller with dinput switch, then you can configure it as you want. You lose analog trigers, so you can't then controll throtlle analog, but i thing it is not so big problem.

After all this time I still don't understand what this guy's problem with autopilot even is.

Being able to push two buttons at the same time (that you ordinarily don't push at the same time during maneuvers) ruins the game apparently.

vro are you actually just holding every shoulder button in combat? how are you just autopiloting into buildings every time

xbox1 controller here, so I can't reassign buttons unfortunately.

What about tweaking some game files in order to turn autopilot off. Do you know how?

There is only input.ini file for directx input controller. Xinput preset is hide somewhere in core, so it is no possible easy overwrite it. You need advanced mod for that.

yea I too am not quite sure what the issue is, I mean... just dont use the auto pilot then. But, If you have or can procure a DS4 controller, the DS4 tool allows you to remap and customize your controls in ways you cant imagine. I can even play old pc games like Rainbow Six Gold with my controller, by assigning mouse and keyboard commands to it, and the thumbstick even allows for acceleration and variable amount of input so its not a binary thing to use an analog stick in place of a mouse. Its a pretty great tool. I have my AC7 controls completely remapped, exactly how I like it. It makes ALL the difference

They need to allow us turning the autopilot torture and those post stall maneuvers (which can also make you crash at low altitude or screw any other maneuver) on/off given they won't allow us remapping buttons.

Do you know which program might do that?

No, they really don't need to allow you to turn them off. YOU need to adapt to their existence.

I am incapable of comprehending just how you can accidentally enable autopilot. PSM, on the other hand, I still occasionally enable by accident, but even at water level, the change in how the plane flies when PSM activates is enough to warn you and allow you to adapt to avoid crashing, unless you were already in a lethal collision course without it.

...I seem to forget not to underestimate human stupidity. PSM's aren't initiated unless YOU initiate them(Plus only certain aircraft can do them either fully or to some extent) and if your crashing at low altitude if you are purposefully initiating them...that's on you not the game. You're essentialy saying, "OMG! Why did my car crash and my passengers die after gunning for that tree? The Government should just get rid of all trees."

Does anyone know a way to turn autopilot off via file tweaking?, what program if so might do the trick?

It's called not pressing both yaw buttons/keys
