A reminder for developers

It's important today to use an easily editable format for the string files (e.g. simple plain XML UTF-8 text files, adopted by other successful games like Divinity:Original Sin). Hard-coding everything in the exe or custom (compressed) data files should be a deprecable practice, blocking any translation's hope. Especially for small budget software houses, the fan community can really help providing other additional languages or corrections at virtually no cost, but these localization files need to be easily accessible and editable and all charmaps with special chars supported.

I feel like I'm spoiling myself the plot, but whatever - it already seems an interesting game from the dialogues alone.

English is not my first language, it's french, but I play all my game in english since elementary school.

For me, a really good improvement to this game would be to have subtitle for every speech. Not just the crystal clear voice of the TOM and Ava. I have no problem understanding them at all but it's way more difficult to understand the various recording of people when they lower the voice, cry or when there's some buzzing noise in the recording. I understand about 90% for now but I'd love to understand all.

I've just finished chapter 4 and I love the game so far.

I just saw the pinned thread and it's an artistic decision. Well, that make the game really one language. Translating the subtitles is a little useless if you cannot understand half of the game anyway. It may be good art in english but it cut a lot of people out of the game. I suppose is an art vs business decision and I understand it's not an easy decision.I just hope that the game will be popular enough to allow you to translate the voice and that everyone can enjoy the game. For me, I understand enough and I'd love that everybody can enjoy it as much.

I have saw in a file there are other languages column in translations files but no language option in settings game. Any idea ?
