You ever wonder why we're here?
While cool to see this on Steam, you can watch free on the Rooster Teeth site or Youtube. Also available in HD on Netflix and Amazon Video if you subscribe to either.

Now if this were an actual purchase on the other hand, and not a 48 hour rental... that would be a different story.

You can purchase it to keep for 9 usd, but yeah ♥♥♥♥ that, already got my Remastered DvD Collection.

Agreed, especially since we have actual games based in superior IPs like DOOM and Quake of which Halo was based off.

Especially considering it's a 2001 game that looks like Quakes 2 and 3 and those games came out in 1997 and 1999 respectively.

This is really off topic, but check out this video if you haven't already. Halo was originally planned to release for the Mac in 1999.

Why does that matter? This is just a video. A really, really, really old set of videos. That said, this is Halo, which was on Xbox, which all things considered, was a very limited piece of hardware in its early stages of game development. This was one of its very first games. Of course it'd look bad compared to a PC game.

It matters because we have DOOM and Quake, both of which are PC IPs, as opposed to a console IP that's basically kid DOOM but refuses to acknowledge it's roots.

uh, ok, but this isn't a game. It's just a video collection.

I'm well aware. Also, doom wasn't the first fps. if anything doom is kid wolfenstein.

This is a video. Regardless of how well halo plays, how well it looks, how the guns are, what it's based off of, it's just a video. It isn't the game. It doesn't acknowledge doom? Okay, so you think every fps should just put in their credits BASED OFF DOOM! WE WERE INSPIRED BY DOOM!

No, because that would be ridiculous. It's really crazy you're fussing over this. Like totally ludicrous.

I think you're blowing things a little too far out.

1. I'm aware Wolf 3D was the first ever FPS (it was also a PC game), DOOM on the other hand popularized alot of the features we see in even the dumbed down CFPSs.

2. Not every FPS is based off DOOM, games like ROTT, Planetside, etc are very outstanding on their own and those two in particular are very much technical achievements both for their time and the game engine they use. That said, it's cute you assume that i think every FPS is based off DOOM but i hate to tell you this, Halo isn't every FPS ever released, there are tons of better examples out there in addition to the other two i mentioned there's System Shock, aswell as SS2's two spiritual successors Bioshock and Deus Ex, Quake a sort of "reboot" of DOOM that openly acknowledges it's roots and Battlezone just to name a few.

No, seriously, it doesn't matter. This has nothing to do with anything because this isn't Halo. This is a Machinima, one of the first of its kind and the one that pretty much popularized the entire Machinima craze, made in 2003 by a couple of collage guys in Texas. Not Bungie. Not Microsoft or 343 or whoever the hell owns Halo these days. If you think Doom and Quake is better than Halo. Fine, I respect that. I don't have a problem with that. But saying that Red vs. Blue, Not Halo, but this, shouldn't even be on steam because.... reasons? That make absolutly no sense.

Have you even seen the series? Or do you just like running your mouth?

Edit: Geez, now I regret jumping in this. Whatever.

Of course it would acknowledge doom, you silly man. It's made by the same company. Why do you insist halo NEEDS to acknowledge a game made in 1995?

ROTT? Rise of the tomb raider? That's not a fps. It's a completely different type of game. Why is it even being mentioned? You're prob talking about another game but ROTT isn't ringing any bells atm. You're trying to make a point I think but your argument is all over the place.

1. Agreed, i mean despite the fact it was a massive success and had a massive cult following with numerous games based off that formula such as the aforementioned Quake, the recently released Wrak aswell as a countless number of source ports just so everyone can enjoy that old, pointless game that everyone forgot about.

2. I dunno, this very much looks like an FPS to me:

http://store.steampowered.com/app/358410/

Also the name is Rise of the Triad, it's a technecal achievement because it runs off the Wolf 3D engine and if you don't understand why that's a technecal achievement then you probably shouldn't be here on Steam.

I kinda stated in my previous post that I didn't know what ROTT was. I know the game, but I don't take the time out of my day to memorise what ROTT, DOTT, SAMHTR, UT2004, SSTSE, WTNO, WTOB, all mean.

You are really taking this sort of thing way too seriously. it is a parody of an old game. no credit is necessary, and it never was, because, well, nobody cares.

Or it could be marketing for the Xbox or a suggestion the original trilogy could be coming to Steam/PC.
