You own the base game, so you own the dlc now, too. Everyone's copy of the base game has recently been upgraded to Aliens: Colonial Marines Collection. You can't buy the dlc individually on Steam now; only the collection exists, which comes with the dlc.

Wait for an offer and buy the package. For easier management they have put the game and the dlcs as a package. Not sure why but well that's it. I wanna buy only the DLC (Bug Hunt or something) and the rest is irrelevant to me but well... I can't do that :P

No one who owns the base game on Steam needs to buy any of the DLC. Every owner of the base game on Steam owns the DLC now. The Collection includes the DLC, and everyone's base game has been upgraded to The Collection for free. The individual DLC is irrelevant now, but they haven't removed it from the store page for whatever reason. Pull up your game in the library tab. You will see The Collection checkmarked. Forget the individually listed DLC. You have them all with the collection.

Really? I am not sure about that. I have just some dlcs (that came with the Collector's Edition) but I don't have the others... Also I don't have the Collection, hell you can check my profile to check it... I think that I ave to buy the collection also since I can't buy the individual DLCs :P

Add the collection to your cart and it'll give you an error message at checkout that you already have it. If you launch the game you should be able to access everything.

Indeed, what a nice message this was :P

"Aliens Colonial Marines Collection: According to our records, you already own one or more of the items included in this package on Steam.
If purchasing for yourself, you will not receive an extra copy of:
Aliens: Colonial Marines Collection
Aliens: Colonial Marines Limited Edition Pack
Aliens: Colonial Marines Collector's Edition Pack
Aliens: Colonial Marines SHARP Sticks
Is this a purchase for yourself or is it a gift? Select one to continue to checkout."

Now the fun part is that I own the Collector's edition but that doesn't really mean anything to Gearbox lol :P

Hey I guess you were right. I just now finished re-installing ACM and I don't have access to any new DLC. According to the Steam store I have The Collection, but none of the DLC. Man, this sucks.

I wasn't joking man, or making fun of others. But this is one... strange move by Gearbox...

Yeah man, I feel the same way. I should have waited for my reinstall to finish and checked the game before I told you the wrong thing.

so, if we have the collection, it doesnt matter what steams says, we dont get the DLCs?
James Jan 26, 2017 @ 9:34am
Yeah, unfortunately. What a disappointment this is.

Having the same problem with it only being the vanilla and hadn't been upgraded. The store page says I have it, but my library says I don't, and there's only the SHARP Sticks DLC I got from the pre-order that shows up in the library and in the game folder.

I did contact steam support and the response I got was not very helpful.

"The information on the Steam Storefront is the only available information at this time.

Please refer to the Steam News section for the latest news and updates on upcoming Steam titles and content."

So I looked through the news for A:CM and... nothing that I could find about the Collection upgrade. Most articles had to do with the lawsuits and/or the false advertising. Sure as hell won't pay $30 so I can play through Stasis Interupted, so back to the Hall of Shame section to collect dust it goes. Thought I had enough buyer's remorse from the state of the game on release, guess they wern't done making me regret buying A:CM.

I thought about contacting Gearbox, but I'll just watch a playthrough on Youtube instead.
