Specialists on item levelling
If I put a Gladiator on an item and then level it, atk would increase. Ok. How about if there's a dual specialist, like sprinter (atk and speed). Would both increase?

Only the single stat specialists can boost stats when you kill an Item General/King/God.

I'm going for perfect items... :tabbycat:

Edit: what I imagine is: if I get a mystery room that boosts the item lvl on floor 9 for example, I would normally not be able to get another one on the same floor if I gency out. By running into a trash item and no mystery room on 9, I can then return to the item I want perfect and now I can, again, get a mystery room. Is that correct?

In follow up, which are the best specialists to put in a fist weapon? My understanding is that they use atk and speed both as dmg modifiers.

Perfect for attack, in case you want to equip it on Adell or Ninjas. The reason is their special abilities are based on attack.

If you're absolutely sure that no Ninjas nor Adell will equip it, go perfecting speed. The reason is attack only increases damage while speed also increases evasion.

Thank you, quite helpful.

"Forced Bonuses" seems to refer to how the person did not "force" the bonus levels to occur.

Every certain number of item world floors, a Bonus Gate can appear, with thing like shops, or events that increase the items Level/stats without increasing the Floors. Since the gate is based on floors, you could go 4 floors in a Subpoena, and then 2 floors in a Super Robo Suit, and see a gate... or you coiuld go the same 6 floors in the Suit and see a gate, as an example.

Knowing this about the bonus gates, you can find out exactly how many floors you need for the next gate, go through most of them in some random item, and then spawn the gate in the one you want to make Perfect. Since the gate will appear consistently, you can save, visit it, and load if you don't get the desired result. You can force a level bonus with this, if you care enough.

Relatedly, Level Spheres can spawn(I don't know the mechanics) and those can produce bonus levels for the item, so it might be possible to force those to spawn consistently as well.

I see! So I can get all the 100 extra levels on the very end if I so desire, right? Seems nice!

Yes, you can get the 100 extra levels whenever. You can even get them all on floor 1 if you want (it's a big waste of Gencies, but hey).

Is it really? I mean, it looks like you have to burn a gency for every mystery floor, so would it not be the same? Plus, on guides, it says something like "go to level 3, gency and save, go to floor 4 until you get the right mystery room". There's a huge time consumed on moving to one floor to the other. If it was really possible to do it all on floor 1, that time would be spared.

It is because by going through the floors, you'll naturally get extra levels through level spheres (which you can't get before floor 21) without having to use Gencies.

Also, by getting them all on floor 1, it means saving and reloading until you get a mystery gate with a level boost, then gencying out to go into another item to clear 3 floors, then go back into the original item to get another boost, and repeat that.

Hmmm, I see. Are spheres common after floor 21? Never payed attention to them really.

I have seen them from time to time, but in my experience, they usually get destoryed before I get close to them, I just stopped trying to get to them myself.

Just do a chain of throwers to get there. I have like 8 or 10 Heavy Knights for this. :)

Yup, this exactly. Doing this, plus clearing the floor before any enemy takes a turn is the way to go. You don't want to spend any more time than absolutely necessary on perfecting an item.

As for how common they are... I'd say about one every 10 floors, maybe a bit less? Not certain, to be honest.
