Has there been anyone on Linux OS, that has gotten a beta test?

So far, I have ether ingnored, not read or refused... I am wanting to know if they are actually dealing with linux or its all talk, like many of Triple A companies.

will try this out on Ubuntu GNU/Linux system. It's nice to see some GNU/Linux support with games I love. IF NISA can port more games to GNU/Linux that will give them some more sales selling older games. :)
I bought it cuz that, anyway in the store say it would run on Linux/SteamOS so I think there isn’t any problem. I'm glad to see games like this coming to this platform c:

I'm trying it on a Debian distro (october 2016).

AMD Athlon, GTX 750 Ti, with logitech joypad.

I had to remap the controls, but so far, so good.

I always like to see games coming to Linux, especially RPGs I missed at their time, because I didn't own a console.
But that's exactly the reason I already missed Disgaea 1. So I guess I won't be skipping Disgaea1 and start playing Disgaea 2.
Any rumors whether Disgaea 1 will be ported?

So the Linux version does not find my xbox360 controller, does not have a resolution option and no option for fullscreen or windowed.

The opening can't keep fps stable and has a few little drops here and there.

Disgaea 1 works rather well with wine, I use the same configuration you can find to get all the Idea Factory games going, only problem is that it can't find the 360 controller but the IF games all can find it, so it is some bad implementation on NISA's side....

I just try with a wireless xbox360 controller and I have not had any problem. Everything works flawless and I did not need to modify anything.

Try to install xboxdrv and run it from big picture mode.

Thanks for the tip! looks like the problem was that ubutu comes with xboxdrv but is missing important stuff, after adding that the game can now find the controller.

Tried Big picture mode, after changing resolution and to windowed all buttons broke and lost their description, wanted to close steam but it looks like I hit the button for PC shut down. After I restarted my pc steam now crashes every time I want to go into big picture. xD

That's weird lol anyway if I'm using big picture mode is cuz I'm playing at full screen perhaps that's a bug cuz u should play in window mode in big picture anyway.

I'm using it on Archlinux here, in Big Picture mode, but I'm using a steam controller. The only issue I am having is that the screen occasionally will blank - which means the system thinks I'm idle and should shut the monitor off. I haven't been able so solve that yet, but other than that - it's playing wonderfully and I'm enjoying the heck out of it.

Isnt there a way in terminal to tell system that its always busy in a dummy fashion? Its been years since i have heard of idle issues, but i remember something along thoughs lines... Its not a good answer but Maybe? a start.

Also using Arch, I found that disabling the steam overlay in launch options got rid of the whole idling problem, nothing worse than using a controller but having to wiggle the mouse every 5 minutes.

I'm using a Steam Controller, and GNOME 3 is my DE of choice. GNOME (among others) does a long "fade out" transition before turning monitors off. I didn't realize before now that this transition steals window focus. Steam notices that, and drops the controller into desktop mode; that means virtually any button press now generates keyboard or mouse events, which cancels the sleep. The game then regains focus, so the controller goes back to the game config. Convoluted under the hood, but dead simple to use and didn't need any setup.

On a related note, the controller config only loads correctly when launched from Big Picture mode for some reason. And there's a memory leak related to the BP overlay. And of course, the overlay is needed for the SC to load game configs. I set an addressing space limit of 8GB to keep the game from bringing down the whole system if it gets too bad, and just let my machine tank the bloat.

Despite its faults, this is an awesome port for a team so new to the PC, leave alone Linux. No showstoppers on day 1, that's downright impressive.
