30 hours in and have not found a single orange or purple weapon

Honestly I understand this is a loot game, but when my best weapons and gear are either white or quest rewards, there are some serious issues. I have even poured over 300k in the slot machines for nothing. Is this normal or I am just having some crazy bad luck?

Orange drops usually only drop from bosses, which you can kill again by re-entering the area, purple drops are really rare. More likely to get them from weapons caches than kill drops. Slot machines don't ever drop orange or purple iirc. And yes I'd say you have horrible luck.

Are you playing alone? I think the best weapons only appear if you've got 4 players.

I generally played Borderlands as 2 player co-op, and we never seemed to get anything amazing (too early into B2 to tell)

Actually slot machines do drop orange and purple weapons, you just need to hit a jackpot. I feel like after pouring pretty much every cent i have earned in the game into them, i should at least get something besides white weapons.

I have no idea how you've managed that. I've only gotten two orange drops (same gun, turns out... and just two levels apart, at 7 and 9), but I got a lot of purples.

Btw, you can get purples from the slots. I've gotten ~20. You can get oranges too, but it's extremely rare.

i have had no orage but i did waste my wauly key from the premiumclub on the chesting in sanctuary wen i was level nine and i got 2 purple but i can only imagine what a orange looks like even as a level 24 sire p.s. how do i make a thread for glitches?

Am I the only one that seriously hates the fact that people can't seem to grasp the statistical implications made by the word 'random'?

I'll spell it out to you: There is an x% chance of getting a certain colour item when loot is dropped. Chances are the lower rarities will have a bigger chance of showing up. When chance is involved, you can never guarantee that you'll get a certain result. You could never get a purple. Or, you could suddenly have them rained on you.

There could be someone out there who gets only greens. It's possible. Just implausible.

And you would probably never score a rare from a low level peon. Things will get better in TVHM.

You are just having crazy bad luck, I have found dozens of purples and a couple of oranges in 31 hours of play.

I do understand that it could be possible for me to put 1000 hours into the game and never find a single orange or purple weapon. I was merely asking to see just how unlucky I have been in the game so far. In a game all about loot though, it is just not fun to find common gear for 30 hours straight.

I'd say you have been very unlucky. Ive found alot of Blue, Orange and Purple weapons thus far, but never any "extra gear" like grenade mods and shields with a highere color than Green. And im playing solo
