random legendary ♥♥♥♥♥ drop?

i was farming fo rthe maggie in the dust and one of the zafords dropped the ♥♥♥♥♥ anyone know why?

You can get most legendaries from any source that can drop them. Those guys are as good as any to farm really since it is an easy save/load to have them dead.

They probably arent' the highest drop rate around as they ahve their preferred Legendary (MAggie), but you can get them almost anywhere. You can get a legendary out of a pile on the ground. I don't know the specifics on what drops waht the most, but some named NPCs ahve higher drop rates for certain legendaries, as you are farmign for one, but you can get them almost anywhere. Chests, crap piles, lockers, dumpsters, etc. REgular enemies can drop legendaries too. The rates are jsut way lower.

Like....Titomosquito187 said (god that felt weird typing), you can get any legendary anyway from any loot souce, just some legendaries have a higher chance to drop from specific enemies. I've gotten the Conference Call (specific Warrior Drop) from the Bunker. I've also gotten Sledge's Shotgun from the Warrior.

What they said. It was just a random drop. I got a B!tch from Mercy once. That was a surprise. I saw the orange line, but it was not what I was expecting. :-)

I was farming the forman for the Black Hole one day, and I always take a path that leads around the edge, to the red chest on the edge of the map so i always open up the chest as I go by... Opend it up and inside was a Trick Shot Maggie...I had the VHR equiped at the time so maybe that had something to do with it. But thats the only time so far I have gotten a legendary out of a chest.

Was in sawtooth cauldren in tvhm though, and two loot midgets dropped legendary's (a hammer buster, and sledge's shotgun) within minutes of each other.

Nope. When an enemy drops equipment loot, the game goes through the rarity lists to determine the color, and if the color comes up White, Vault Hunter's Relic has a chance to instead upgrade that white to a better color.

Majority of the time that the VHR kicks in, you'll get a Green instead, rarely a Blue. The odds of a Purple popping up cause of VHR are stupidly low(you'd have to kill Lootsplosion bosses dozens of times before that happens), and a Legendary is likely in the range of 1 in 1,000,000(one million) or worse.

Exactly. VHR increases the probability of dropping Blue weapons esp. those of Green or White variants. In order words, a Wanton Root can have a Blue variant, which in reality is notthing special or unique except a slight upgrade. The relic theoretically decreases the probability of dropping rarities. I thought the VHR too might had something to do with some rarities dropping but every since I've sold the relic, I've had some noticeable luck with rarities.

On-topic, a ***** with the Cutting Edge prefix dropped from loot midgets lvl 59.
