Starting to get FPS issues (GTX 1080)
Okay, so I have a park with around 2600 guests and a decent amount of rides. I started the game off on ultra settings at around 60 FPS, but I'm starting to reach the 30's. Note that lowering the settings all the way to the bottom doesn't make much of a difference, perhaps adding 5 FPS.

I'm using a GTX 1080 overclocked to 2050 Mhz and an i5 4670k overclocked to 4Ghz. Avarage load on CPU is around 70-80%, so there doesn't seem to be a bottleneck.

Can anybody tell me the cause, or if it's an known issue.

Its really normal that your fps is starting to lower so dont worry about that :) its because the more rides and coasters/visitors you have your pc all has to simulate them all at the same time. This is a huge demand for your cpu and video ram, this is why your fps drops. i usually get at 40fps withba 970gtx i5 4760 on normal settings at 2500 visitors.

Try lowering your settings as your park grows.

Also the latest drivers are problematic for the 10 series cards apparently.

I have a park with 10k people and i use only the half from the map, 12fps!

I did that, but it didn't help. It gives a very marginal improvement of not more than 5-10%.

Which is why I don't have those installed. :)

That's insane. I hope some kind of patch will come to fix this issue. There must be some workaround in doing the complicated math without straining the hardware so much.

Uhm, what?

Good luck, people here are stubborn and absolutely refuse to admit there might be any type of optimization issues.

I am willing to admit there might be some sort of optimization issue.

There might actually be people willing to admit that fact.

I understand that this game was built to be playable for years to come but if the hardware improvement expectations are not realized it will remain a game for the few, not for the many. Sad.

Now that the game is out in the wild, the developers will probably have a much better time optimizing the game. There's a long road ahead.

which very well could be your problem and if you contact their support first thing they're going to do is tell you to update your drivers.

Which would be a terrible idea. The latest Nivida drivers for example ruin everrryyttthing xD

Nah, 2050 is a sweet spot for a lot of 1080's. The lucky folks are getting 21XX or higher. I've got two 1080's in SLI and both can hit 2050.

The latest drivers don't offer optimization for Planet Coaster, so it won't make a difference. It also messed up quite a few systems, which is why I didn't update yet.
