System Requirements & Known Issues [Updated 5/29]
Hey everyone, I have seen some conversations about people having issues with performance on PC. One thing we've seen is turning off vsync tends to resolve this issue. That being said, make sure you meet our min system specs. If you do and are still experiencing issues, please reach out to us at http://support.greybox.com

System Requirements:
Minimum:
OS: Windows 7 64-Bit
Intel Core i5 2310 2.9 GHz / AMD FX-6300
Memory: 4 GB Ram
Graphics: GTX 550 Ti 1GB/Radeon 6950 1GB or better
Storage: 7400 MB available space

Recommended:
OS: Windows 10 64-bit
Processor: Intel i5 3570k / AMD FX-8350
Memory: 8 GB Memory
Graphics: GTX 770 2GB / Radeon R9 280X 3GB or better
Storage: 7400 MB available space

-RiME Does not support Crossfire
-If you disconnect a USB headset and reconnect it the audio will not resume playing through the headset.
-21:9 Aspect ratio may not display specific aspects of the game correctly.
-Windows taskbar is present when launching game in borderless display mode
-Bringing up the Steam overlay prevents using the Voice action on a controller.
-Bringing up the Steam overlay during the splash animations will cause audio/video desync
-RiME will initialize VR hardware on startup if it is connected to the PC. This can impact performance.
-Disabling Super Sampling Anti-Aliasing has helped some users resolve performance issues (Confirmed on some NVidia 1080s). Use FXAA or TXAA instead.
-Setting VSync to Double Buffering and running in Fullscreen has helped some users resolve performance issues (Confirmed on Nvidia 980, 970)
-Shadows and lighting are dynamic RiME. Reducing shadow quality has helped some users resolve performance issues.
- Deleting the folder RiME\Engine\Binaries\ThirdParty\OpenVR will prevent SteamVR from launching when loading RiME.

GTX1080 founders edition maxed out all settings. 45-60fps at 4k resolution with txaa, and double buffering. all settings maxed out.

ssa hits the hardest. turn it off or use fxaa or txaa. txaa is better quality. ssa is the hardest one of all. use double buffering for vsync.

We have had a lot of people report that SSAA is causing some issues. Thanks for the suggestions!
Thats because allot of folk dont own a gtx 1080 ti in sli if u have that or a titan xp SSAA looks beautifull in your game and a good stable 60 fps.

i have 7 pc's. on a gtx660, running at 720p resolution on a 1080p home heater pc system. it looks fine, graphcs to low, txaa, double buffer, and in advanced settings switched reflection to medium to high. borderless window is giving me a problem so i switched to full screen. on my 4k system, 4k, nothing like it very enjoyable expirience.

I was playing yesterday at 1080 and lowered the graphics settings to try and have a smoother experience but now when I attempt to run the game I get sound but a black screen. Any way to alter the settings outside of the game?

OK so I played through on a less than stellar PC with ABSOLUTELY NO ISSUES AT ALL. CPU was about 38% in use and memory 45-50%

Specs: 2.40 GHz; 8GB RAM; 64 bit; Windows 8.1 Toshiba Satellite GeForce 740
Used keyboard and wireless mouse.

Here's how I did it: go into your task manager and eliminate excess memory hogs. Microsoft click to run, adobe updater, etc. I even turned off Windows defender temporarily since I wasn't surfing. My base memory use was a low 21%.

Settings used in game:
Full screen
Dbl Buff
Antial off
Texture Med
Shadow Med
Res 100%
Motion Blur on
Reflect low
Depth/bloom/water tess all off
Mouse smoothing on

Bottom line: streamline your memory use and keep your comupter cool. Hope this helps someone <3

Well hear is my share .....

I won't be the one going all out against you and your company but i have to say others having a 900 series Nvidia Graphic card or 1050,1060,1070,1080 series graphic card users are suffering from performance issue, which is a bad thing since they paid so much for their graphic cards to get a superior performance above any console or mid range PC users like me....

My Specs;

GPU; Geforce GTX 850 M {4GB}

Processor ; Intel i7; (Haswell) 4710 HQ CPU @ 2.5 ghz base, Gaming mode ; 3.2 Ghz

RAM; 16 GB DDR3

Resolution ; 1920 x 1080 @60 Hz

As you can see my RIG is mid tier , but the odd thing is I have most of the things maxed out;

Here is my settings,

Display mode: Borderless

V-sync ; Double Buffering

Anti-Aliasing; TXAA

Texture, Shadow Quality ; High

Advanced;

Resolution scale ; 75%`

Framerate; Uncapped

Filtering; Anistropic 16x

Bloom ; Off

Depth of Field; On

Motion Blur; Off

Water Tesselation ; On

Screen Space Reflections; High

Fps; 54-61 FPS

I seem to be doing fine mostly, but i face a huge Frame rate drop , when it turns night , all the way down to 35 FPS !!! This is a huge drop !! Plus some areas of the map the area tends to load then reloads the entire map with all the obstacles ; Ex; i head to the other side of the island in the beginning , the map entirely reloads..!!! from the rocks to the bushes... i am not sure how to fix it....i am waiting for the patch...BTW using Re-shader, i got a better lighting on the character and the scenario !!

I am also using Razer cortex to get a 4-5 frames addition to my FPS...so it seems others having more issues than me...but anyways Thanks for the game, i love it so far !!! After playing ABZU, i love this game !!!

@Nav2max

I would try turning off Tessalation, dial Texture and Shadow back to Medium and up your Resolution (just so it doesn't totally look awful without the glitz of the other stuff)

I'm not a hard core gamer by ANY means lol. I just gave it some thought as to what I might do in lab to dial back processing time for the satellite images I use at uni without losing to much quality.

Geez I wish I had that PC though. (except for this issue) it sounds great! I really need to upgrade.

Thanks for the suggestion,

as you said, I have kept my Resolution to ; 100%

Shadows are now in ; Medium,

Just it looks overall blurry, and its more blurry when i place ;

Textures ; Medium

and i get a boost of FPS when i have Tesselation ; Off, but i am trying to get it to look better since most of the settings are really not helping, plus the Stuttering issues, i am waiting for the patch and hopefully it will look better...

I have to Upgrade too, just waiting for AMD's Vega, then i will make a decision !

Hi Devs and moderators!

Very very Beautiful and incredible music!

Sadly my PC struggles a bit and I think it shouldn't and it makes it a bit less enjoyable

I7-4790k
16 Gb RAM
R9-290X OC 4Gb
Windows 10
All background processes stopped.

45 FPS on average everywhere on HIGH, Double buffering, VSYNC and FPS capped on 60. TXAA. SSAA impossible gives me 17 FPS!

It's enjoyable but plz optimize soon. Shadows and Lights are taxing, understand, but polygon count is not that high.

Gracias por este genial juego. Me pongo enseguida otra vez!
