I second this.

I imagine you could run at/ around 30fps but your graphics card is really bad and you may want to think about overclocking your CPU. 30fps will not be an enjoyable experience, especially late game.

It is gonna be painful, I would advise against it, sadly :/
Even with everything on minimum the late game can be harsh on most systems.

I can play the game just fine on a Core 2 Duo 3.0Ghz, 4GB RAM, and a GTX 275. However, I would say this is the bare minimum needed to play the game. Both my CPU (one of the cores, anyway) and GPU are being pushed to the max. You'll more than likely have performance issues trying to run the game on that system.

I suppose everyone has a different view on playable. In my opinion I wouldn't want anything less powerful than my rig - Phenom II Black Edition 3.4GHz Quad Core + Overclocked HD 7850 2GB.

That's a good point. I suppose my definition of playable in an action-oriented game such as NS2 is smooth gameplay via a constant FPS rate. After the latest patch, I've been able to run the game at a steady 40-60.

Of course, I have the resolution turned down to 1280x720 and many graphics options are turned off. It's certainly not as visually appealing as other might get with better cards, but I am able to play.

^^ Absolutely agree with you. I play with highest textures, rich infestation, reflections and anti aliasing turned on and probably average... 80FPS. I'm not so sure. If I'm just running around the map building power nodes it's 100-120 easily but then in 20 player end game battles it's in the low 40's. I just wish I could play with shadows on, but it drops my fps by around 10-20!

Yep. Agreed as well.

The big problem, in my opinion, is that this is a reflex-based game.
I wouldn't mind 30 frames per second on Civilization or something slow paced but in here... it is the difference between being able to hit the enemy or dying.
LucK_ 16. Nov. 2013 um 11:15
^^ It's so embarrasing trying to kill a marine as a skulk with low fps!
Just... can't.... do it... get in my mouth!

I would buy more ram

Notanome puts it perfectly. In slower paced games 30 FPS is fine but here, having less than 60 is pretty bad but you can still play in ways that a less reliant on FPS such as flamethrowers, miniguns, grenade launcher, gorge, late game lerk and onos.

You will struggle with early lerk, fade, skulk, rifle and shotgun though but you can still play support reasonably well.

i have E8200 4gb an 450 gts. It runs somewhat playable, problem comes into maps that are richer with graphics like biodome. Replace your graphic card 400 series is ♥♥♥♥. Plus upgrade to at least 4 gb ram, the prices are reall good.

yor cpu sems to be ok but the rest?

I cant waint to get new computer in a month.
