Just what the topic says. Granted, I haven't played since september, but WTF is up with that? Rookie mode is turned off in the options. Something in the updates I'm missing?

Hm, maybe it was just the one server. Managed to join another non-green server without a problem.

KKG servers think you're a rookie because you're playing on a private steam profile and it can't tell how many hours you've logged.

Actually, KKG uses the in-game HIVE Stat system.

If you don't have the required hours from playing Hive servers then it claims you are a rookie.

Actually the mod uses the highest time it can get from steam (if profile is public), hive or ns2stats.com

BTW i'm the dev of that mod ;)

It's not people calling me a rookie, it's the game (or mod?). I was automatically kicked after a minute from the server in question.

(Whether I suck at NS2 is another issue (I do)).

The game counts you as a rookie, if your
a) Have Rookie on in the options menu,
b) Have not been playing on Official servers or certain servers that report for X hours
