Oh and i've read the patch note...(My info is outdated sry)
Im here to discuss the balance part in fact. here's the link to the patch note
im looking for an explanation that why they increase the IP cost and the arms lab upgrade cost while it was originally pretty hard already while reducing the rez cost from gorge tunnel/increasing the armor also. from where i hear gloabally aliens have a slightly better win/lose ratio than marines. so why nerf marines?

First of all, it's an old changelog, keep that in mind. Everything you saw ingame in the last *year* has been after this patch.

I can't really talk about the marine commander stuff, I just have an outsider (and slightly alien affected. :D ) view on this. My guess is that they wanted to balance the midgame so the marines can't just rush the upgrades and stomp the aliens. After all the latter are inferior in direct combat and I personally feel that lvl 3 upgrades belong to the lategame. Increased IP cost could be to prevent IP spams (3 or more?) early game.
Again, just an outsider and slightly alien view on this, I am not a marine comm. Btw, has anyone ever calculated the res cost of each tech tree? Like, what do marines have to spend to get everything vs what aliens have to spend? Maybe they wanted to balance that..

Ah, the gorge tunnel. At that time you still had to research it and after that it was still very expensive. To be honest, I like the system how it is now. If you go gorge at the start of the round you can place 2 tunnels, that's it. 18 res of your 20 start res gone, you have to wait a few minutes until you can fortify this outpost with hydras (9 res total or around 2 minutes on 4 rts). So, a dedicated gorge right now takes 27 res to fulfill his role, more if the marines manage to rush the outpost. My guess on the change back then: To make their lives a little bit easier. It would be a bit too hard to force dedicated gorges to spend a full round's res earnings on his role. Remember, when the first guys can go onos these battlepigs can barely afford a lerk if they didn't die and their structures didn't get destroyed. And to be honest, it's a little bit boring to play a gorge the whole round.
And the armor? Maybe for increased bullet resistance.

I'd imagine that at the time, early marine aggression was a little bit too overbearing, so they upped the cost of IPs and the upgrades to smooth that out, and gorge tunnels were also hardly ever used back then because they were so expensive and delayed other more important upgrades by too much to be worth it.

oops i mistaken this one with the latest one. What a fail :p. so i double checked the newest one. there seemed to be no balance change at all. and i guess i have to say sorry if my post has bothered u guys.

Yeah, they decided to keep the more significant balance changes they planned to have until next patch after the World Championship so as not to mess around with it too much.

No problem at all, it is always valid to question the changes even in older changelogs. You just have to keep in mind that this is could have been changed already or that it is in fact the state the game has been in for some time :)

Mh, they added a few vents on docking afaik and the rt in smelting on refinery has been supposedly rotated to the other wall. I have yet to see these changes, but I would also include them in the balancing. Vents can be used for faster travelling and ambushes after all.

And back then you would've gotten answers from more experienced players. ^^ The problem with questioning something later on is that not that many guys can answer it correctly. I barely remember that time when you had to research tunnels, I didn't play that much back then. ;D And the thing with the commander stuff was just a guess of mine, it could have been for some other reason too.
