gameplay idea
an option to distribute team res among the ground units like it will be on the chair and you click a button which says distribute 10 res

You can sort of do that. The commander can buy individual weapons like shotguns and backpacks and leave them on the ground by the armoury for the soldier to pick up. Also, the alien commander can use team res to buy lifeform eggs for players to spawn in.

Nope, because such a thing would throw off the game balance and be abused.

See, we have a "progression" during the round. Players gain PRes, and the more RTs you have the faster. You gain access to higher tier tech at some key moments in the round, and having more or less RTs speeds up or slows down this process. That's why the enemy team always tries to destroy your RTs, that's to keep you poor for a longer time. Also it means that everyone have the same amount at the same time (if they didn't spend it), so for aliens they can all have access to the same thing at the same time.

If the com, especially the alien comm, could use a button to distribute PRes, then the timings would all be off, and you could see higher, more powerful lifeforms on the field super early, and they would wreck the marines without the marines being able to do anything.
Now I know the Alien comm can still buy lifeform eggs for the team with his TRes, but that's subject to many more limitations and it's expensive. Good that way


As for the Marines, it's less of an issue, but then again the commander can just buy guns for the team, so that's essentially the same thing as converting TRes into PRes.

If you distribute 50 res the whole team gets only about 5 res each

Then what's the point of it? Better spend tres on armor 3. Or get jets. Or put 1-2 sets of sentries. Or just med, catalyst and nanoshield. All that stuff directly increases your team's strength and survivability on field, which both allows to claim more RTs -> your team gains more pres, and save your team from losing expensive weapons (along with their lives), again increasing your players' wealth.
And if you really have nothing to spend on and are almost winning, you just spam jetpacks

Same with aliens, get more area control and upgrades. 8 biomass is strong. Use drifter abilities, save teammates with bonewalls ect. Make forward tunnel w shade, I dunno. Lerk egg costs 30 tres btw.
(if you are at 3 hives, you spam contam and just win)

Tl;dr: existing stuff is both better suited for the game, and already implements your desire to "make team wealthy"

To you it may not seem like a big deal, but this can speed up the process of getting Fades or Onos by MINUTES. This is no joke man.

Also, TRes and PRes don't exactly have the same value, and even more so depending on which side.

For Marines, we could argue that 1 TRes would be equal to 1PRes (since you can effectively convert 1 TRes to 1 PRes by dropping guns for the same amount of res).
But for Aliens, PRes are EVERYTHING. They're so much more valuable than TRes because they can buy lifeforms, and lifeforms win games.
You can also "drop" a lifeform for aliens by converting an skulk egg to a lifeform egg (the way to convert TRes to PRes) but if I recall correctly it costs twice as much, or a similar amount, and requires higher levels of biomass.

Plus, sometimes, TBH I'd rather spend my TRes on improving my tech (which is often a free upgrade for the whole team) or even buying a single gun to my best guy rather than giving away a small amount of PRes to everyone so that they can buy a mine or buy 4 welders that they'll waste or something.

I'd even argue (and it's sad) that PRes don't all have the same value because the effectiveness of 1 PRes depends on which player spends it on what.
You'll get more value out of 20 PRes spent by a Purple buying a shotgun than a Silver buying the same shotgun for the same amount and dying to skulks.
Same for lifeforms.
