Isn't less than two years a little...short?
Granted, this isn't as bad as EA (let's kill games within months of releasing them!), but I kind of expect them to be there for a while.
But the official release date for public was November 2012. That's not even 2 years of public release.
Again, the public release was in November 2012.
Though I may be remembering incorrectly.
yeah but it wasnt really playable till the 2 updates before realese i think? people would be filled with rage if they bought it back then :D
Since 2004 they worked on the Source version, scrapped it, spent YEARS making their own engine, then about 3-4 more getting the game to work.
After release they released a BUNCH of free content and spent lots of time trying to make it better while slowly losing money.
Why can't we just agree that after about 6 years they need a break to go do something else?
If I was developing a game for 10 years (it is actually 10, I said 6 because the alpha was in 2008), I would go completely mad, and i'm sure lots of people here would agree.
It doesn't really matter if it's after release now.
The fact still remains that they spent far too long on this game.
Instead of letting it die like most devs, they are actually letting the more capable people of the community take over.
Eitherway.. I was right after all these years, with UWE leeching of community.
