Shi-tty update 05/12/2023
Thanks for breaking my SKSE modded skyrim, after a day of work I wanted to relax but it wasn't possible.

For what ? Add your crappy paid mods

You could of just set the game to only update when you launch the game, then just only launch the game through skse.exe.

But yeah I feel you, I only installed the game the other day and finished modding it after a long break, It's weird how they always update the game at the worst possible time for me.

See:

Official patch notes from website (December 2023) - https://steamcommunity.com/app/489830/discussions/0/4039229127173058322/

They included a whole bunch of bug fixes as well.

Is this why skse is saying I'm playing with a newer version of skyrim? I did notice it was saying that they were doing maintenance. It was working fine last night but today I can't play, am I going to have wait for an updated skse?

Yes, I immediately deactivated the updates as soon as it happened, but having recently started playing it again I didn't believe that after years it would still be updated

although starting it with SKSE I think it will update anyway, since it also starts from steam

Isn't there a way to play without updating a game?
skse updated lol

SKSE have already updated a little while ago.
but the problem is that if you have installed the "Address Library for SKSE Plugins" mod you have to wait for the update there too to play it

Well you never know when they are going to suddenly put out a pointless unwanted update, so it's best to always keep the updates off.

So Bethesda should never update their games? buzz off
Naylind Dec 5, 2023 @ 9:05am
they change the game version, why they keep doing stuff they barely understand, a freaking week to do a complete mess.

No, but they dont enjoy forced updates, nor do they enjoy updates that barely have anything to offer to the player experience.
