Modding is for everyone, and everything out there is not to everyone's tastes. That's the price of modding being a free and open environment for anyone to add anything they can make.

It is a single player game. People will pay it however they want. It is not up to you to dictate how they may enjoy the game. Those mods may not be for me, but I do understand I don't control what others are playing.

Yeah, this is also something that has happened with other popular game series, like The Sims for example which in a way is kinda hilarious :p It might have started with something adding a bit more realism to the game, that others then developed into all sorts of things. It's there, it's available but it is not something you have to participate in if you don't want to.

I have had some people asking me what "kind of game" this really is after just looking at the art section :D So there is a possible downside. Some people might get the wrong impression and therefore lose interest in the game, but it's also up to each and everyone to do their own research I think. If anything I think it's pretty clear from the trailer that the base game doesn't contain what you usually see in the art section.
