Why are bears SO tough?

Legit, I had a easier time fighting Alduin then I did with one Snow Bear. A Dwarven Warhammer with 54 damage hardly even affects the Bear's health?? And then he goes ahead and one shots me.

Alduin was easier than these things...

Alduin was still rusty from just having escape temporal banishment, and it was your destiny to slay him. The bears though, they have no such vulnerability. The bears don't care about your legend. They've waited in the frozen regions just hoping a hero who thought himself on top of the world would roll through so they could snack on him. Then you walked by.

A somewhat legit question.

I have yet to play a game in which animals have realistic hitpoints. Why in the name of uck is it so hard to create animals with realistic hitpoints? I get it, it's a RPG, but no ... not even then it's acceptable. A steel sword into the neck of a bear should kill this SoF.

Just switch to novice... there now you can one-shot the bears and everything else. :P

How many bears have you gone up against, irl, that you didn't have a difficult time taking down with a warhammer? 54 damage isn't really all that much when they can get in the area of 500+ with perks, smithing and enchantments on your armor and jewelry. You're also most likely not wearing that great of armor. With time, perks and smithing and enchantments, you're going to be playing in Legendary difficulty and moaning about how easy that is... If you utilize what the game offers (Ahzidal's gear, the Notched Pickaxe, The Sallow Regent Black Book, the Thief and Mage Stones, The Atherium Crown...)
