FNIS not working with Mod Organizer 2

Skyrim SE: 1.4.2.0 - C:\SSD Games\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\ (Steam)

Patch: "SKELETON Arm Fix"

All Anim Lists scanned. Generating Behavior Files ...
Alternate Animation mods: 0 sets: 0 total groups: 0 added file slots: 0 alternate files: 0

I have Immersive Animations, Pretty Combat Animations, and the XP32MSSE.
I can't figure out what to do. Is there an alternative way to run this? NMM sucks.

This (from pinned topic Skyrim SE: Guides and Resources by Ilja

"Currently supported mod manager for Skyrim SE are Nexus Mod Manager (NMM) and Wrye Bash (WB).
....
◦ Other mod managers
- Mod Organizer. Obsolete for Skyrim SE. Development has ended and author is now leading new NMM generation development"

I'm beginning to feel this discussion forum is becoming a Nexus Mods troubleshooting forum and not a Skyrim SE forum. Really any issues with mods should be posted in the Nexus forum under the mod itself.

Sometimes it's easier for people to post here. But you are right - first place to look if you are having a problem with a mod is that mod's Posts page. And who knows better than the mod author themself about the possible problems with their mod.

Also, this from the very first sticky on FNIS SE Posts page:

"ATTENTION

I do not provide any support related to installation/use with Mod Organizer

Contrary to the MO sticky post FNIS DOESN'T work well with MO

Please go to the S.T.E.P. forum, or use the Mod Organizer bug tracker modorganizer issues"

Yeah, I always check the mod creator's comments about any incompatibilites with other mods before installing. I also usually check over the comments section in mods that seem a bit complex, just to see if there are any issues. If the mod creator doesn't provide support or feedback to people's queries or problems I usually steer well clear of the mod itself.

NMM doesn't suck.
I'd remove all of those animations and add them individually and test them. I'd remove Immersive Animations for starters. I looked briefly at the Nexus page for that and it looks dubious. Mod creator even admits he was too lazy to port it over to Skyrim SE himself. There is no mention in the mod description about any incompatibilities, and then the comments page shows people reporting issues.

I use the STEP MO2 forum for how-to's. It suggested installing MO2 in a stand-alone portable folder which solved some problems I was having. I haven't tried FNIS with SE. Nor do I use the MO2 dll / patch on nexus. If you get it to work please post back here.

I've used FNIS with an animation mod that required it (and it works fine in SE so far), but as it says on the mod page you need to download a Generator tool as well. In fact all the stuff you need is mentioned in the mod description page. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/3038/?

I'd much rather read stuff properly and follow instructions carefully than run the risk of a corrupted save game.

Absolutely! I've spent more hours researching mods and, once I've selected the mods I want, editing them in TES5Edit to ensure compatibility, than I've actually spent playing the game. And it was all time well spent, as I have a completely stable game (original, not SSE) with 696 mods and 510 total plugins merged down to 252 (and this on a pretty poor PC).

Of course, a person has to be willing to put in the time to do it properly - if not, they usually end up posting in the forums (my usual response is to recommend that they read the pinned topic - something simple, yet often not done).

There aren't any guides for installation order. I'll just end up overwriting the files of all my other mods and things will be just as screwed up as a faulty load order.

And I posted here because posting on the mod page will just get me shunned since the author said he doesn't support MO, and I don't want to create yet ANOTHER account somewhere for an answer that probably nobody has. Also, it's like snail mail over there. It would take weeks to get an actual answer. I figured I'd try here.

I'm guessing what you're saying is to run FNIS outside of MO2. In that case, I get this error:

Skyrim: ??.??.?? -

It's alright. I think I'm done with SSE. It doesn't seem to offer anything that Oldrim doesn't. I'll just figure out how to make the old one stable.
