Yeah, that's been my experience as well, it's a huge void for them, I created a number of Dakka Jetz, though they are absolutely shredded by IG for examples, AAA gun and multiple aircraft, I haven't tried the Mek Gunz, will see how they pan out, thanks for the reply.
Yeah, just found that out over the past couple of hours, no doubt, not as effective as they should be.
I agree 100%, the best you can get out of them is anywhere from 8-16 damage, depending on heroes amplifying their abilities etc.
Orks can bully most other factions they spawn next to except maybe Necrons and possibly Space Marines (Haven't had this early game matchup yet but I theorize it might not go easy). The Necron guns are good against the Boyz and their high HP low armor though. But yeah if you're the Orks and you let Astra Militarum get to late game and really develop you're just screwed. AM isn't meant to lose a late game air battle with a well developed force except probably to Obelisk's, Gauss Pylons, and Tesseract Vaults. SM can try a backdoor strategy maybe with SM deep strikes. But for Orks in a straight up fight? Yeah it's going to be a HARD won battle. And that balance seems intentional as far as I can tell.
Great comments, yeah, it's definitely a massive challenge when you are fighting multiple AIs or MP and you run across for example, AM, they are a FORCE late game and you have little to no ability to combat their airpower, I agree, it's likely by design.
DakkaJets are cheap and fast, use lots of them and swarm'em
I use this technique a lot, I use them to warp Gorkanauts around, this is also good to work in your AI partners heavy hitters, some games I've had 6-12 of them warping boss like characters all over the place.
