And no, the map of Earth is not rectangular. Spend some more time in school.
I know somewhat how the generations work, that's why I recommended a shape toggle so that they can work on only two sets of seeds and not a new set for every small variable.
And yes, images use to display the map are four sided quadrilaterals with 90 degrees in each corner with one set of parallel lines being longer than the other. That's a rectangle. And if it's not, go ahead and say what shape it is.
As for the maps in the game, i think more options for seeds will come, but its going to take some time as the dev is working mostly on their own and so can only focus on a few things at a time.
I assume you're talking about the Mercator projection. Regardless, common images / maps are still rectangular. I get that there's distortions and such with world maps, however, that's not what I was refering to.
And yeah, I can see how it wouldn't be high on their priority list. Still it's best to voice your wants for the game even if it's not the focus at the moment.
