Remember that your AI subscribers use abilities based on how the whole ability is classified. If it's marked as a "Buff" or as a "Heal", then it'll be focused on the player's party members or on themselves. If it's marked as a "Debuff" or as an "Attack", then it'll be focused on the enemy.
It's also worth noting that each AOE effect will apply only to either 'monsters' or 'subscribers', depending on who the target was, and will apply to *all* monsters or subscribers within the AOE range, even players who aren't in the party or monsters who haven't been aggro'd. (note to self: there's nothing in the code for applying AOE attacks to NPCs; that's definitely something I need to fix! And honestly, this logic is all going to have to change when factions come in anyway.)
It's *also* also worth noting that the AOE system has a special carve-out for PVP duels; AOE attacks between players in a PVP duel won't affect players *outside* the PVP duel. (otherwise towns would turn into giant free-for-alls as the players all accidentally aggro'd each other with their AOE attacks!)
Hope that helps!
