I do think adding a way to combined zones, or simply make them larger would be a good addition to the game so we have enough room for different factions.
I would imagine certain regions belong to a certain faction, like a core territory that cannot be contested (for newbs). Then there are soft territories that belong to factions to begin with but are up for grabs via points of control contestable in periodic PVP matches or quests completed in a day, mobs killed or a combination of all of those factors. Lastly neutral zones purely up for grabs. XP bonus per region controlled by the factions or something for incentive.
Each month or quarter, reset the core and soft territories and go again but buff the losing faction/s somehow to give them a fighting chance (maybe if the same faction wins twice in a row or something they get a slight debuff or less likely to get new players spawn into their faction).
You can check it out and pre-plan your biggest areas to be faction specific zones
