The fix for screen FREEZING on nvidia graphic cards!
Some, most or all who try to play Might & Magic: Heroes 6 freezes on town screen on nvidia graphic cards and a widescreen monitor will find that most often in town or in the hero inventory screen the screen randomly freezes which means you need to restart your game. I have tried many a solution, and while changing drivers into older ones or even legacy ones may work there is a simple fix if you just want to play the game without hassle and see what its like and do you truly enjoy it!

So, it pretty much begins with going to options and clicking "play windowed" and setting resolution to 1024x786, this will change the freezing to occur only once in around... six or so hours. Four to six hours of gaming time before game crashing bugs is pretty much the best we can hope in this new age of gaming, yes?

Its also a good wake up call to realize its time to go outside and stop playing games, maybe talk to a buddy... or then a good wake up call to restart your computer so it clears cache and can progress enemy turns faster!

Same problem here I have GTX 560TI (SLI) let me know if you know a better fix then this because that is just stupid
Well there is the fix of downgrading your video card drivers. Plenty of people give varying suggestions on which ones work better. But basicly, downgrade until you can run mario. Then the game should work.
I've been playing this game for hours now. Downgrading is the only way to get it to work. Any of the 300 drivers will cause the bug for me on my GTX560 (non-SLI), so I switched back to 295.73. I didn't come across any weird bugs in any other game yet with those older drivers (WoW even gives higher fps than with the newer ones), so might as well stick to the old one.

I went oldschool, decided to downgrade all the way to 285. I can now run both minecraft AND heroes of might and magic 6, two of the most graphic card intensive games ever! =P
How do I downgrade my video card driver? I will suggest 5 good movies, to reward the effort of writing a short point by point guide..

fairly simple, find the old driver and install it. use of driversweeper is recommended before rolling back..
I just turned off autosave and it hasn't frozen on the town screen in dozens of hours...or at all since \i turned it off.
autosave/off is no solution for me. still freezing. can't be, that i have to use very old system drivers to be able to play that f*****g game?!

I also updated to the latest driver using NVIDIA Geforce GT 630M driver version 310.70. As long as my computer has been restarted I can usually play about 6 hours before the game freezes. Maybe it's a memory issue or something with the graphics card, but 6 hours is plenty for me.
Running W764bit, i52500k, gtx 670. driver 306.97
I do get hangs (not screen freeze, just hang... basically the computer gets "stuck" while thinking). I am able to hit esc and bring up menu, etc, but cannot progress as the game is waiting for the computer to stop "thinking".
They occur about every four to five hours or so. I just reload a previous save and move on.
For those of you who are reporting screen freeze (this is where nothing moves, right?), does it occur with any other game?
I want my money back, I am very disappointed in Steam for putting on sale a broken game. This is poor business...
Nothing works for me, even tried running it in windowed mode. Downgrading the driver is not an option, as my card is too new to be supported... Just like throwing money out of the window... -.-''
Has anyone gotten a response from Ubisoft or Game support staff on this?
