Today I wanted to play it again and have the exact same issue as yourself. Re-installing did not help it either.
I can play other games which use the Uplay client, i.e: Flashback, etc.. so I know my UPlay client is not broken.
I also now tried launching UPlay directly but when trying to play Might & Magic it shows a message saying the game will now start through STEAM which causes it to end up exactly in the same mess again as before with the frozen splash screen.
Also I'm not running Nvidia just in case someone thinks it is to do with the Nvidia issue whereby the game requires older drivers to run. I'm running on AMD Radeon HD 7850.
I can't find any Ubisoft responses on their forums and none here. Maybe I missed another thread here or on the Ubisoft forum.
I will keep looking.
At this points though I feel ripped off, I paid STEAM for a license that allows me to play the game through STEAM.
STEAM is holding up their side of the agreement by allowing me to start the game but the Ubisoft client/game is not delivering the goods.
I will continue trying to get access to the game but if I cannot play a title I have a license for I will look into the possibility of small claims court to get my money back for the license from STEAM.
Sorry STEAM not your fault but you have my money. Take it up with Ubisoft cause that is the contract you (STEAM) have with Ubisfot and they are not delivering their end of the agreement to you! Maybe you should consider telling them what you told EA a while ago......:)
Let's just hope it sorts itself out somehow.
