Prey
Running short of Mineral Material
Because I made too many shot gun shells.
So basically how to get more of them?

And the funny part I find in this game is that, most fabrication plans require mineral materials, while very few of them require exotic materials.
It's like I got 40 synthetic and 50 exotic materials with no pratical use.

Thanks for all the protips! To be fair I just entered psychotronics, so I'm not that far in the game yet. I'm mostly crafting neuromods and ammo. I also haven't gotten any stealth skills yet. :C I usually gloo them and shoot at cowboy speed with the pistol, hmmm. I've been eyeing stealth the whole game, hah.

I'm slowly discovering the least resource-spending methods and having a ton of fun playing it. :ss2heart:

Though, even without doing that, I still struggle to understand how ppl are slow low on ammo and mats. Recycling a heap of ammo atm as just don't need it.

This...
But i would refrain from recycling ammo if you're low on minerals since minerals are what you use the most to create ammo!

Worth mentioning that if you are just now getting to psychotronics, you aren't even quite out of the "tutorial" section of the game. It isn't too surprising to be low on ammo that early on.
As you progress you'll get significantly stronger, and have access to more and more loot

You may want to get some ideas how the abilities work and stuff. But after I had played 10 hours I scrapped my whole game and restarted and I feel like I was better for it. It made me much better in understanding what stuff did and what I needed, I ended up having much more fun with it. I am not sure about you but you may want to consider it at some point.
I have done some experiments with recycler charges, and the result is using it to get mineral materials is not worthy.
Because 1 recycler charges requires 2 mineral materials to fabricate(not 1 mineral material), and even if you get all the trash bins, chairs, dead bodies in Crew Quaters you just can't get 2 mineral materials out of that pile of rubish(and I have material expert to get 30% more materials) Moreover, if you didn't get neurmode for leverage3, there is no way you can make profit using recycler charges.
All in all, using recycler charges to recycle things is pretty stupid, save them to clear hidden passages.

As you get stronger, you will meet the nightmare. And defeating one costs me almost 3 mineral materials(10 shotgun shells)
Would rather evade that beast next time.

I just got to the Arboreum (First run, hard, no psionics) and I haven't had any material issues yet, I'd suggest to recycle extra spare parts (If I max out a stack at 50, I shelf it and recycle when I have around 20 in a new stack), suit repair kits, (Same deal, they stack up to 10) and spare grenades (I never use EMP or Nullwaves, free mats).

This game teaches you that hording is good, but you need to learn to let go of stuff you don't use but you're "saving for later".

Dude, recycling suit repair kits only gives you synthetic materials.., checked it myself.
And, the reason why I quickly run out of materials is because I killed 3 nightmares...

Yes, the solution is to use many types of weapons and abilities I think. I fixed the imbalance by learning to use some weapons I had huge heaps of ammo while depleting on mineral resources that I was converting to shotgun shells.

I think that's obviously a design choice, meant to force you to improvise and take all the advantages you can. Wrench mimics, make sure you get the drop on phantoms, maximize the damage you get out of each shot. A sneak attack with a shotgun will knock phantoms on their faces, and you can land several good hits before they even have a chance to react. Get turrets to do your dirty work for you. Or get really creative and ambush your enemies near gas pipes and such - just blow them up.

Also, expanding your inventory can actually be really helpful. It lets you pick up all those spare wrenches and guns you'll find lying around, which are good for recycling.

Recyler grenades might help.

Thx! Will try some Typhon powers!

It won't help. You know, because ridiculously you could get more mineral materials by recycling the recycler charge than using it.

Depends on what you use them on...

I just do it to get rid of the recycle charges as well thou, 15+ recycle charges = need to get rid of them to make more room to hold other stuff, given don;t need them for fights etc.
