Game Fix
If your system is running more than 2GM of RAM and more than 16-bit color, you must do this in order to play. I didn't write these instructions, but I've used them to great success. Don't forget to put all of your system settings back when you are done playing.

1. In the Startmenu go to " Run " then run the programm " MSCONFIG ".

2. In the new popup go to the second flap called " Start " and then press "Advanced Options".

3. Tick the box on the right side of the new pop that says something like "Maximum Memory" and set it to a max of 2000 or lower.

4. Save and restart.

5. Now you will notice that when your running HoAE you cant see the Cinematics so now go to options and set it to 16. bit colours.

6. Restart HoAE and it should work.

Atleast it did for me. If you want to use your full ram again all you gotta do is go back to " msconfig" and untick the "max memory" box.

Hope this helped you as much as it helped me!

This game never used to work for me. I heard of the 2 gig config memory fix but I could never be bothered to try it because of having to reboot and all that and I had other games to play. Today I just randomly tried the game and it worked! WTF?! It used to be totally NO GO but now it just works! I didn't change anything and the game didn't receive an update to my knowledge. Well it's all good anyway! :)

I just confirmed that this game no longer requires that fix. :) I think it should stay posted here in case someone has issues, but I am running Vista 64 with 4GB RAM and a GeForce 460 ti. I installed it clean and left all settings default.

I am running windows 7 64 bit with 16GB Ram and a GTX560 1GB but I am still having issues, I would prefer not to have to adjust the RAM settings as previously mentioned.

Am I missing something or am I doomed to have to adjust or not play?

Also I have only downloaded the Demo would the full version be different?

Its probably your video card driver. NVIDIA made some changes and dropped support for older technologies. Try setting up a Windows XP virtual machine and installing an older video driver in that virtual XP box.

And by older video driver, I mean like 2 years older.

You can't use video drivers older than your actual graphic card.
I am not sure if you can install a video card driver in a virtual pc/xp mode und Windows 7. Those virtualisations do not support such features. These are available in HyperV.
